Ive been having stomach issues going on around 3 months now, ranging from stomach spasms to bloating. I've experienced strange feelings around my lower abdomen and left and right. A month or so ago we started noticing that eating dairy would cause diarrhea immediately after I ate any, I cut back on eating it and since then have noticed that eating large amounts of cheese would cause bloating and diarrhea so I stopped eating it, also this weekend I ate around 3 scoops of ice cream and had diarrhea shortly after, and around 5 hours after eating the ice cream I had bad stomach pain that felt like the stomach flu. Also, since eating the dairy on Saturday my bowel movements have been almost entirely liquid and pale almost yellowish in color. Essentially it felt exactly like a colonoscopy prep. And I still have a slight flu like feeling in my stomach. This morning I finally had a solid bowel movement but it was completely ribbon like and narrow, and also a pale yellowish color. The strange thing is a lot of my spasms and bloating seemed to disappear after my colonoscopy.. and started to worry about other things like problems with my pancreas or gallbladder etc.. I started reading about jaundice and how itching is a first sign and all the sudden I feel extremely itchy just thinking about it, when I dont think about it Idont really itch. Also the yellowish stool I seem to be noticing is worrisome also, and despite having an all clear colonoscopy I'm not sure why I had the bowel movement today that was 100% thin stringy pieces
When your food goes through you too quickly it can cause yellow stools. People with IBS sometimes can’t tolerate dairy and don’t digest food well and it can cause diarrhoea which is sometimes yellow. Sometimes, stools can have undigested food particles in them. Bowel habit change is a key symptom of IBS which does not show on any scan or test. Doctors diagnose IBS when all tests are negative for everything else. Try to relax, don’t google symptoms or overthink what may be wrong. Your doctor will diagnose you and relieve your worries. Ask your doctor about IBS.
Your symptoms will be worse when you are worrying and this is also a sign of IBS. My symptoms were worse when my tests showed nothing and there were no answers for me. When I was concentrating on other things, my symptoms got better, when I started stressing about my stomach again, they came back. IBS pain can come and go or be constant. Mine was constant at first while I was worrying and this confused my doctors more. When I got my IBS diagnosis, my symptoms changed to come and go pain because I had stopped worrying. I am now in remission so long as I don’t get stressed.
My first IBS flare up lasted 3 and a half months.
