I’ve recently been put on Lansoprazole (30g) by my doctor due to constant non-stop deep burping and a uncomfortable feeling in my stomach, which only a large amount of Rennies will decrease every day.
The doctor has not done any tests and has put me straight on these meds, one a day in the morning, four days ago.
My stomach feels uncomfortably tight and my burping has increased (even when I do take the Rennies) so much so that I feel like I could be sick sometimes on how much burping I have.
Anyone else had these side effects? If so, did it stop after a certain amount of time?
I know I’ve only started taking these so don’t want to throw this away if this is a normal occurrence.
Please do endoscopy,hida scan and ultrasound to rule out what is the root cause.I'm having burping since 7 years , i have gastritis and non working gallbladder with stones.I don't think lansoprozole is making you to burp more.In fact, i'm taking lansoprozole to reduce my burping and acid reflux symptoms.

Try not taking Lanzoprozole and Rennies. Leave out the rennies. Probably taking them both together is causing more burping.....
I take a lot of Gaviscon and sometimes it gives me gas. You may be better to stop the Rennies and stay on the PPI to see if the burping gets better. Alternatively, you could always stop both of them to see if the burping is a side effect of your medication.
