Late Spotting & late menopause

I'm 56 years old now. I started what I think was perimenopause, with no hot flashes, just some spotting--light and heavy from time to time until my period stopped altogether.

I may have gotten my first hot flash recently, but layering clothing & 'cooling off' helped; some insomnia.

I don't know whether spotting at this age is normal, though. It's rather light, and last time

a little 'shred' of it when using the restroom. Any ideas about this topic? Thanks for any feedback!!

(oh, just wanted to add that perimenopause started when I was in my late 40's. some pelvic pain periodiacally,

but not severe. may be stress-related, since work is unpredictable and my fiance died last year; my dad died this year, too. i do what i can to cope w stress & be practical about that)

So sorry you have been through so much recent grief. *hugs* your symptoms all sound kind of normal, but if you are worried check with your doctor. You have had so much stress, it's no wonder your body is playing up.

Don't suffer these horrendous sweats, I fought them for over 8 years, I Would go and see either your gp, or a well woman clinic if youve got one and discuss a blood test to check your hormone levels and options on HRT and the many ways you can receive it.

Good luck
