Hey y'all,
My problem started about a week ago when I noticed a large new floater in my left eye. It is large with one long curved line and a shorter one underneath, and some webbing. You have to understand that I really hate spiders and freaked out at first when the floater moved from the left into my line of site. After two days I got used to it...don't like it, but it's there. And the last couple of days I have noticed a graying in the bottom part of much vision. Effecting my peripheral site and annoying bottom vision. Today there is strain pain when I look hard to the right or left.
Any ideas or advice out there would be a comfort till I get an appointment with an eye doctor.
Sincerely,
Jeanne1106
Zhi Jeanne, in most cases from what my eye doc told me eye spots are normal and tend to resolve themselves in time. Your floater black spots are normal but the bottom get and webbing is of concern and not normal. It would be in your best interest to se your eye doc for a evaluation or at the very least call and describe your problem and ask to appt.
good luck
I have had the same problems for 18 months now and as as soon as one bout fades and clears it starts again. My vision has lots of cobwebs many floaters and lines etc and I live in fear of total blindness. I have had over 1500 blood vessels lasered
and my vision is a mess The consultant says my vision is not as bad as I think but it freaks me out. I've always been a type 1 diabetic and my eyes are clearly my weak spot !!!
Hang in there. It'll clear in time
Abi
Thank you hope4cure.
I know about the floaters because I have one in the other eye. It's the graying in my vision and the pain that has me the most concerned, and come Monday I will make an appointment with an eye doctor per your recommendation.
Again thank you.
Hi Abu, Thanks for your reply. I have had a floater before, and for me that's not my most concern. It's the vision distortion and pain. And I will make an appointment Monday to see an eye doctor.
I am sorry to hear of all the problems you are having with your eyes, and will keep you in my prayers.
I don't know whereabouts you are jeanne but can you not ring your local hospital eye department outpatients for advise about how urgently or not you should be seen over this problem. This is what I do and I find the department nurses very helpful and they have always given me an appointment day or two ahead to get checked out.
I would go see a retina specialist
I’m in SC, and I will look into your suggestion. Thank you very much.
Steph, Do you really think it could be that serious as to see a specialist right off?
Hi Jeanne.
As suggested by someone else go see a retinal specialist. I have just had a scleral buckle fitted to my left eye and cryopexy (freezing) in both my eyes for a detached retina and holes. I noticed a spidery floater and also a shadow in my peripheral vision, my shadow turned out to be a retinal detachment.
Good luck.
Elisabeth.
