Hi Scott, I felt exactly the same as you on walking when I reduced from 15 to 12mg Prednisolone although I didn't have the weakness in my arms that you describe, extreme fatigue was also a problem. However this gradually got better and now at 10mg I would say that I hardly feel any weakness when walking and the fatigue is not as bad as it was although I do still tire more quickly than I did before PMR . I hope this is of some consolation to you, however we are all different but I sincerely hope you feel some improvement soon.
Hi Scott, I hear your frustration 😫 All I can add is that I found the tiredness during prednisolone ( and active PMR ) to be different in that if I sat down I fell asleep😴 I had very little energy whereas now I can be fairly active all day and not even think about it however, as I try to build up my exercise tolerance it is the muscle groups that I have been working that tire and take longer to recover than they did whilst on prednisolone which possibly masked the pain.
YES!!!
And when they 'seize up, it is quite painful in itself - different to PMR 'pain'. I simply have to stop and wait for them to recover, which usually takes a minute or two.
I can walk for hours if I go slow enough and have something to lean on - a shopping trolly or pram. I have often wondered about getting a walker - but I'm only 52 and my pride just won't let me!
Shame on you Flip - how about a bathchair?
I'm thinking a hoist would be a great help!
I know! I can buy a pram and put a doll in there - I won't look like a crazy woman at all!!
