Lesbian with bacterial vaginosis. New to the infection :(

I'm 22 and a lesbian. I have a girlfriend I've been with for 6 months and I never let her touch me, because I refuse to give it to her. I've been going down on her, though- can she get it from my saliva?

Also, does BV EVER go away?? Will I EVER be able to have sex with her- or is it just too risky?

I've been on antibiotics and now it's the same.

now I'm on metro gel for 5 days then some other gel with a T for 7 days after this.

I'm really worried I have to break up with her over this

You name it I tried it.  Boric acid worked for me.  Here are somethings to remember. BV is caused by a ph imbalance.  The normal pH of the vagina is 4.5 or less Any thing higher can cause a problem:

Menstruation: Blood has a pH of 7.4, so during your period, vaginal pH becomes elevated. Tampons: Since they retain the fluids that cause pH to increase, tampons can contribute to the problem, especially if you “forget” a tampon and leave it in too long.  Intercourse: The pH of semen is 7.1 to 8.Douching and cleansers: Any vaginal infusion of water or other fluids can affect vaginal pH. The pH of water is 7, and fragrances and perfumes can also irritate the vagina.

You have to find your triggers and try to avoid or lessen you exposure.  Mine is my cycle and semen so during my cycle I use one on the first day and one when it ends.  Also if my husband finish in me before I go to bed I pop one in.  I also only was with Vagisils PH Balance wash.

While the CDC does not specify a specific treatment I used one every night for 3 nights and now only if im exposed i.e. my cycle or semen. You should never consume boric acid but its a safe treatment to use externally in the vagina

While some may view boric acid as a particulary concentrated treatment the good new is it typically is a permanent treatment for BV.  I make my own and you can order the stuff on amazon as well as read the tons of reviews.  Hope this helps

Forgot one other thing the meds the dr give you SUCK for most they work only while you are on them and as soon as you encounter a trigger ie your cycle its back.  The meds also kill both the good and bad bacteria

I've had wonderful results with a douche of half water half 3% hydrogen peroxide. I did get a yeast infection shortly after, but after treating the yeast infection with an oral OTC med, The BV has still not come back.
