TOP TEN WORST SUGGESTIONS or COMMENTS GIVEN TO SOMEONE WITH CHRONIC ILLNESS.....

1)  Are u sure it's not all in UR head?

2) You should try to meditate.

3) My cousin just had THR & she's back to climbing the ALPS ! Stop running to the doctor and just grit your teeth.

4) You need to get out more. Come shopping with me.

I had hip replacement on June last year.

Some tell not to do it I am sure that the pain will away!

You will have to do it every 2 years!

It is better if you wait when you are 60!

Two Day after my operation someone invited for BBQ when I am at hospital and I have no idea when I am going home let alone going for a BBQ. She replay oh I thought you was deschange on same!

Good Grief!!!

that should be the # 1 most worst thing ever..

that's #1) Dumb and Dumber !

My all FAV:   not how r u?  BUT.....

#5)  Well u have put on a lot of weight since THR.how did that happen?

Hope this is such a good idea, not got my new hip yet but think I can still join in.

1.  I don't know what you are worried about its not as if you are having open heart surgery!!!

2.  Not driving for 6 weeks will give you a chance to catch up on your housework.

3.  My friend had her hip replaced it was nothing, back to work in a week.

4.  Why are you limping like that? you look retarded.

OoooH Mmmmm Gggggg!! That is a great big LAUGH ,that's a 4 giggle vote...LOL lollollollol

This came from my son - "If you got off your fat arse and did something you wouldn't be sore for gods sake so stop complaining"  Nice eh?  I don't talk to him much now!!!

I would put him up for adoption, whatever his age !!!!!!!!!

Yes, put him up for adoption, or out to grass. I guess none of us would offer him bed space or a nice hot meal either. Just tell him like it is and pack his case, bet he'd have to search a long way for a better mother.

5) can't you just take painkillers? frown

6) at your age? Are you sure that's the problem?cool

thanks Hope... We all need more humour right now!

My son said to my daughter, ' She only walks with a limp when she thinks someone is watching her!'

Judy.

Some kids r so disrespectful they r so self involved & never had to face serious pain . They just don't get it! Makes me come unglued... That is hard to swallow.. So sorry..

Our generation we helped our elder parents till it hurts. We showed self control and respect. The me generation.. SAD. & disappointing.....rolleyesfrown

Ooo hh! I'll hold him while u do the wacking!

Yeah ah like we have eyes behind our heads. Well we did when they were little that's when they were cute but not so much now...we have both outgrown that one. neutral

When I started complaining to my GP first times,

1-You are walking too much. (I was 22years old )

2-You don't like your job , so imagining your pain.

smile

You should do that name and shame thing...show him that you put it on lin e and all the replies you got! If that doesn't work expose him on Facebook"

or tell him it's hereditary and that he'll probably have to have one done!

That's appalling! hope you don't still have the same doctor?frown

Really like this hope, we all need more laughs!

Don't have any really bad ones (yet) but as my GP is investigating my chronic fatigue symptoms, she said about the hip revision - perhaps the enforced rest will help. Made me laugh (luckily I get on okay with my doctor!)

Many times at work various people have said - Oh you're limping, Jean! like I haven't been for the last three years at least!

karolina..that's soo insulting...

lets ask these wise guys to live differently too cuz who ever said walking to much to a 20 yr old has no clue. Heck I'd be running at that age if I could...skiing...the energy levels I'd kill for today.

yeap the pain in my rear is from those narrow minded idiots . The pain has not ever been real. That's why I use a cane with two hip implants. It's allin my imagination...what a bunch of screwballs !cheesygrin

Jean..

CF is the forced rest for recient implant surgery that's hurting.  Isn't that double imdeminity? Or double something. Wouldn't that just cancell it out? LOL biggrin

That is funny.. Well good u have a sence of humor..

Knuckelhead coworkers.. It a new limp now! Reinforced steel thru major surgery!

Well I have limped since my 40's so I now refer to it as my sexy swagger!

Oh yes I like that. Do you know a singer called Ian Dury (dead now alas) He had polio and walked with a limp - he used to call it his exotic walk!

Oh no! I changed him.

Once I told mynew GP all the problems in 3months time I had MRI ,good surgeon and arthroscopy .

So good GP matters a lot.
