I was recently prescribed 0.025 levothyroxine and my hypothyroid symptoms seem to be getting worse. Is that normal when starting on a low dose? The only thing I am worried about is my heart. It feels weird, kinda like a tightness and my pulse is lower then normal. I am also getting pain in my upper back. I had these issues before starting the medication but seems to be getting worse and starting to be paranoid. Should i stop taking it? My appointment isn't for another three weeks.
I assume you will have a blood test before your next appointment. If you stop taking the medication that will make the results of the blood test pointless. You may very well need a higher dose but it can take several rounds of increases and blood tests to find out. So stick with it if you can.
