has anyone noticed their heart rate drop for a little while after taking lexapro each time?
Hi - I’m on Citalopram and my heart rate has dropped below 60 for 4 days. I have been on this drug for 13 years but it doesn’t seem to work anymore. Not sure if it is my heart or the drug that’s causing the anxiety, but I am speaking to the doctor tomorrow. I think there is evidence that anti-depressants can lower the heart rate. What exactly was your heart rate reading?
Your heart rate may be lower then normal as you are more relaxed calmer on the medication. When we are anxious heart rate will increase. Are you on any propanol for your anxiety ? as this may reduce heart rate. Would be good to know what your heart rate is.
Heart rate 50- 60 beats per minutes is normal. Do you have any other symptoms when your heart rate is reduced i.e light headed, dizziness, chest sensations? If you feel ok and heart rate above 50 bpm I would not be unduly concerned. But if you concerned go to your GP they could order an ECG if needed.
