Lexapro stopped working... suggestions?

I've been on lexapro 20 mg for 10 months and the past few weeks I really feel like it's not working. It's working better than nothing but not like it did before. A month after I started taking it I felt great. I was calm and just had that "everything will be ok" feeling. Lately the general worry and tension has come back. My anxiety level feels uncomfortable again. And sometimes I just feel plain down and sad for no reason.

I asked my primary care doc for something when I felt extra anxious and she gave propranolol. I haven't tried it yet but I'm pretty sure it's for stage fright? I'm trying to switch over to a psychiatrist because I want a specialist on the matter.

I'm wondering if anyone here has experience with an ssri stop working and what you did next? Or just in general what meds have worked for you smile I also plan on starting CBT if the psychiatrist thinks I would benefit smile

Thanks all x

you should begin tapering the lexapro. Forget about pschiatrist as they will certainly maek you much worse. Get massages, take Epsom salt baths and take magnesium. Check your vitamin D levels.

You may need an upside! Like poster said above try some magtein(a form of magnesium) best for sleep and relaxation!

Michael, i have the magnesium threonate made by magtein.  I haven't felt any effects from it. But it has vitamin C and D in it so it's worth taking anyway.
