I am newly dx with lichen planus. Well, almost dx, I have a biopsy next week. But the dermstologist was 99% sure. It was surreal: he asked if his trainee could take a look because he’s never seen psoriasis and lichen planus co-occur. Anyway, he ordered labs and thank God I just received the results and hepatitis is ruled out. I am reading that lichen planus is mostly seen in Hep C Patients. My question is, might there be other diseases that I need to have ruled out? I am thinking fatty liver disease is a possibility since I have all of the risk Factors. I was hoping to get feedback on lichen plsnus’ connection to fatty liver or any diseases other than hepatitis.
My olp is because I have eppstein Barr virus also had hep B in the past . Google (is olp linked to ebvirus ) ! Very interesting reading can be found on various studies that have been done x

welcome to the forum- I have got lichen planus orally and vulval, and yes I also have psoriasis of the scalp,and believe it or not have psoriasis in my ear canals !!!!
and I am sure on one blood test a few months ago I had raised liver count !!
so don't know if it's all connected,
might ask my go if I could have a blood test for my autoimmune and see what she says!!

I also have vulva LP and recently diagnosed with oral LP. Lichen Planus is an autoimmune disease. If you have Lupus, RA or other autoimmune diseases, it is no time uncommon to develop LP. I have not heard of a hepatitis connection, nor a fatty liver disease. This is a great forum with great discussion and support. Welcome!

Thank you for the feedback. I will update after my biopsy next week. He was sure its LP in sone areas and also my exidtibg psoriasis in others. It was sad at the derm’s office all these prople coming in for botox, juvaderm, etc and I just want to clear my skin. I have the lp pn my skin and oral. I also suspect Vulva. That area was not affected during my apoointment but I believe some of what I thought was painful symptoms from menopause dryness may also be conpounded by V LP.
I had it in ear 12 years ago but it turned out to be a cholesteatoma not psoriasis by the time I got diagnosed it had eaten away my eardrum and mastoid bone had painful surgery to get all the disease out and lost hearing in that ear this was also caused by eppstein Barr virus it just keeps attacking me wherever it likes !! X

Also hpv causes LP and OLP anyone had an abnormal smear test in the past. There are different causes for this disease
Yes I have hpv and had cervical cancer when I was 26 had hysterectomy at 29 along with removal of cervix ebv can cause cervical cancer too I swear if I was a horse they would of put me down by now !
How old are you Mary! I'm 59 and now suffering with nerve pain like sciatica!! My eye also waters all the time! I know what you mean!! I think all these things are related to this virus
I'm 59 from UK so glad you think same as me not many professional s do !! I also have pain in my neck shoulders spine and buttocks all the time so I feel more like 75 ! I wish I could wake up one day and feel free again my mouth hurts no matter what I try ! I'm doing the anti viral suppliments and foods to help squelch it x

I'm from Kent . I don't have smears anymore coz cervix was removed good luck x I do tai chi and stretches to help with aches had physio for years but I just do my own things now !! I also have reflexology once a month that's great ! And I'm going for a tuning fork treatment wed !! Will see how that makes me feel !? I'm trying everything to get better !!
