6 mths., no signs of LS I have horrible itching, must have opened the skin, a sml.l amount of blood, very sml. tiny bumps itch. Used the steroid lightly, no avail. I use cortizone, neosporin, calamine lotion, some times these work. I was coating the entire area with vasaline at night thinking to cover and incase all of it, it has been successful I suppose.. It settled down. Does this flare up when normal allergies flare up? Stress invloved that I have eliminated 6 mths. ago. This is long but I must get this itching under control. I am going on a 2 wk. driving vacation, sitting, swelling feet and ankles maybe, maybe not. My brother has found family we should have been part of, he HAS to go see them. Do I sit too long wathing t.v., or just the opposite taking walks?
Any help out there?
kathy
Hi Kathy, I don't think it's anything you're doing but stress plays a big part in mine flaring up, also the better my diet, the better my LS. I am always open to trying new things though and for couple of times during flare ups I have been bathing in apple cidar vinegar. I thing organic works better.. This stops the itch and immediately settles things down for me. I shower in morning using epiderm cream and then just use a diluted solution of ACV to rinse. I then put dermavate on sparingly and cut out caffeine and sugars where possible, drink lots of water. Then bath at night with 1 cup of the vinegar and again apply dermavate.. This is my regime during a flare up and I am back to using a milder steroid a couple of times a week.. hope this helps you kathy but try and get stress under control.. easier said than done I know - Jo
Indeed, when there is a set back of any kind I often have to check my diet. A mistake is so easily made. Hope you'll find the culprit.
Hi my LS is triggered by food intolerances worst affenders are High fructose Corn syrup and sulfates
Check your diet. In the mean time moisturising is key. Can you get Hydromol where your are I find its better than Vaseline. Good luck and enjoy your journey.
thank you, I will try the venegar, it seems to be showing up more and more for different uses. I am having a hard time with fungus on big toes, the creame the doctors give they said just does not reach that far, I have used the venegar at nights and it is helping that. Old Wifes Tles may do the trick in many cases. Thank you....kathy
Diet coke? have not had any for several years and got hooked again. It seems to be responsible for swelling in feet and ankles too.
Ha!..... Coconut macaroons full of corn syrup, I am gluten intolerant and these cookies are great, I suppose they must go the route of all breads as well. Thank you kathy Thanks to everyone, I am in a ral pickle.
As much as I want to say Diet Coke is fine because I love it, I don't think it is. And it's so hard to stop
I have an outbreak of herpes also with his constant fear of progression of my LS. It is a constant irritation of course I don't wear panties. Haven't worn them in 40 years but I did wear g-strings for 10 years I have not been sexually active in 5 years. Was diagnosed four years ago. I think it's only been two but I think it's been four. I wish I'd known how serious it was. I'm also going through menopause and total hysterectomy. I'm closing up in my birth canal I'm losing my labia incontinent and oh what a joy. Yeah well I'm 53 and I wasn't ready to stop being sexually active but I had been divorced from the man I was wish that I was sexually active with for many years. And now this boyfriend and I do not do anything. He really can't without pain in his hip. And I was going to say he has fungus to on his toes and the bathtub gave me fungus on my toes. I no longer bathe in his therapy tub. Do not want to continue with this fungus. The only way to get rid of it is to bathe in a porcelain tub. I'm dry cuz I don't use hormones. The birth canal is closing up because I don't use hormones and I didn't know people were doing that or getting that kind of stuff and then you have to dilate eventually. Whether that's due to LS or menopause I don't know
Well not bathing in there is not the only way to get rid of it. But it is a start. I have some awesome liquid that I bought from Walgreens and I forget what it's called but it works bleaching your toes and feet is awesome period wear gloves though scrub that stuff and treat your toes. It's a good thing some of us aren't diabetic because these things can get way out of hand
me agin. You would not believe that vapo-rub on toes helps soften fungus and easier to get rid of. Takes a long time. Have tried everything else, constantly rinsing things with venegar, tub, hands, sinks, shoes....lol.
