My oral biopsy report said i have lichenoid stomatitis. Is this the same a lichen planus?
No. There may be a correlation but, medical world is unsure. It may be a subset of Oral Lichen Planus. It was first diagnosed in 1990 so, it's relatively new to health sciences but, probably around a lot longer. The problem is it is resistant to oral steroidal mouth rinse. You'll need systemic steroids (pills that work through your internal system). It responds to hydrochlorquine (sp ?) something something. Google it. It is a very rare subset or similar illness to an already rare autoimmune disorder. The difference you'll have to read for yourself as it's very complicated and involves nuclei, gene expression, enzymes, etc.
Thanks, Jaye Kaye, i appreciate your help.
I forgot to tell you that the drug your MD prescribed is Quinine. Used for Malaria. For some reason it works for auto-immune disorders, such as , Lupus. You have the generic name and brand name is Plaquinel, I think. It does come in an oral mouth rinse.
I would try anything if I were you to get rid of this crappy disease. My Mother died of Lupus when I was still a child. I wish it had been an option back then.
