Life 6 months after hip

so nearly 6 months ago I became a hippy, and can honestly say that life has improved so very much. My horizons have started to re-expand.

Currently on a coach holiday in Austria I have joined in all excursions so I have, walked a few miles, gone on boats, steam trains, cable cars and a horse drawn carriage. Feel fit and healthy again. Some one also told me I looked a good few years younger as my face was less pinched!

I am so glad I had the op

So happy for you Maggie. it's so good to finally get your life back and do all the normal things that other people do.  Well done and keep up the good work!

So glad to hear that Maggie, well done. At 5 months I am getting back to normality too and walking normally most of the time although it is sometimes a choice between speed or technique x

Totally agree with speed and technique, I still walk worse at the end of the day

That is so lovely to hear .

Carry on enjoying life x

glad to hear, i am 4 months post op, and at the moment i am waiting to go in again to have other hip done, we have had a couple of weekends away in our caravan too. xx

Glad you are doing well, I'm 4 months post op and like you, at the end of the day I'm beat, tight knee and leg. I still elevate over night.

So glad to hear you are doing great, your holiday sounds lovely. Australia is a wonderful country I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. My THP was due to a nasty fall so I want to get back to how I was feeling before the op. I'm not quite 5 months and went back to see the Physio who gave me some more strenuous exercises to strengthen my muscles. These have been great and I hope to get back to some longer distance bush walking (10-15miles) this summer.

Yes sometimes after a busy day I need to stretch out and lie down with my leg elevated

cool, Maggie - motor coach tours are tiring for anybody to begin with - getting in and out the bus, the seats, the excursions, -  and whoa girl, you are doing so great -

enjoy the rest of your tour !

Great to hear you are doing so well. Oh I envy you doing va coach tour in Austria. It's on my list!!!

It is beautiful and seeing the cows with their decorated headdresses paraded through the village on their way to the winter quarters was a highlight. The cow with the fanciest headdress was the highest milk producer

Open air brass band concert last night, brilliant.

Going home today
