Life After Fibroids? One of the toughest things for me, is this common?

So within the last two years i discovered I have Fibroids. Didn't realize the severity at first but they have grown from being 2cm (the biggest) to now 8cm. I'm waiting to get my myomectomy date scheduled which should be next month. For the first time since having my heavy periods , since my last cycle I have not stopped fully bleeding. Not that it's been heavy but slight clots and darkish spotting. Has anyone else experinced this? Not to mention I also have constant dull cramping. God knows I can't wait to feel normal again. Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else ?

Hello, I am 26 and had my myomectomy 3 1/2 weeks ago. Due to my age my gp never mentioned fibroids whenever I discussed my symptoms. But like you I began with have prolonged periods. One lasted three weeks, although the final 2 weeks were light bleeding or spotting. it wasn't until I was suffering from extreme heavy bleeding (due to placement of 2 fibroids in particular and from growth rate in not being detected) and ended up in hospital that my fibroids were discovered. A year later I am now fibroid free, already bleeding less and have come off all medication I was on pre-surgery

I have, or should I say had, 3 fibroids, all as large as yours. One was halved two weeks ago. I keep wondering why a hysterectomy hasn't been offered. I'm 51. My friend had said the spotting will stop eventually but if it smells or changes colour to return to your doctor.

Hi Asha,

Please before embarking on a myomectomy, please explore the option of fibroid embolisation. This has a whole lot of advantages. Please watch YouTube etc. And please don't forget to pray! May GOD be with you and guide you through the entire process .

How long has the bleeding been on for? I have experienced this when I was placed on some hormonal drugs and pills

That's awesome news, happy for you and thanks for sharing. I found out on a whim myself and now I just want my body to be as normal as possible. I'm 35. Ok if you don't mind me asking what meds were you on pre-surgery? I was only advised to increase my iron dosage to try to avoid a transfusion.

Hmm ok ya you'd think they would at least give you the option. Wasn't clear on your halved comment. Did you get a myo done? Maybe they figured to wait until menopause instead because my understanding is they naturally shrink at that time. Though you are still very young 😊

But no smell just cramping and spotting. Super uncomfortable and I would like to have one more child in the near future. Apparently I have several but a few big ones with one placed smack in the middle of my uterus.

Thank you I definitely will. I know God will not give me more than I can bare. Let me read up and let you know my thoughts. Have you went this route? Any feedback you could share ?

Oops just seeing this. This cycle started March 17th. It usually lasts a few weeks but it went a little longer I mean the 17th is right around the corner again ( it's comes the same day each month). Today seems better so far but the cramps are still there. I'm only taking iron pills.

Hi I have several fibroids the largest being 10cm. I have been bleeding constantly since early February.

I have been taking esmya and noresthisterone. Was told to stop taking noresthisterone once bleeding stopped which it did for a day so I stopped them. However started bleeding heavy again so have had to start it again. I've asked if I can be considered for ablation

I am 39 and wanting to avoid a hysterectomy at all costs for at least a few more years.

But sorry in answer to your question yes the constant bleeding is soooooo annoying!!
