Little confused?

Hi

I was reading the reply i had to my question about eating out and was advised that if my meal contained less than 5g of fat i would be ok and not have the orange experience but i'm sure i was advised to have approx 15g of fat per meal by the MAP nurse. Have i heard her wrong as still waiting for my stuff to arrive that she said she would post out? If its supposed to be 5g then i'm going to have to stay near a loo as been having 15g per meal...................oh my god!!!!!!!!!

Sorry all i seem to do is ask questions at the moment but very new, only started Monday. Hopefully will be able to advised new starters when i have a grip of these tablets.

Tigs

Hi Tigger,

I take it as 5gm of fat per 100gm but say you have 300gm ready meal or something like that then it would be 15gm in total.

As long as what you buy is less than 5gm per 100gms you'll be fine as long as you don't then overdo the portion size!!

Eg: Poached Egg on Toast (say 2 slices of nimble wholemeal because that's what I know) would be 7-8gms of fat for the egg, 1.2gms of fat for the toast - total of 8.2-9.2gms - this depends on what size egg you eat and you could add one of your 5 a day with some mushrooms or tomatoes, also would depend on whether you had any fat on the toast and how you cooked the veg. :!:

Hope this helps you, think I've only just got my head around it and I've been on them since May :!: :!:

PS How's Huddersfield these days? - I went to the Poly there in te 80's think it's now a Uni. smile

Hi Jane

Thanks for the reply.

I was just wondering if i'm doing it right and seems as though i am. I'm buying foods which are 5g of fat per 100g (or less) and then just having what I want but keeping it too no more that 15g per meal. Its hard when i look at what i've got as most stuff is very low fat (lunches seem harder to come up with ides) evening meals are quite easy to think of.

Huddersfield is very big now full of wine bar type places all the pubs seem to have gone. I don't tend to go often as not my scene! I tend to keep to my locals around Holmfirth which are pubs! Yes its a uni now and expanding very fast.

You mention you've been on these pills since May. Have you managed to lose any weight? A friend has used them for a year and says she's lost a stone but suffers from the orange oil and dashing of to the loo a lot. Me thinks she might be eating too much fat!? I wonder if she is skipping tablets as well as most on here seen to have a better weight loss. I want to lose about 2 stone so will keep trying. Its just worrying that i'm not so far experiencing any off the problems mentioned by most on here (only been on them 3 days) so suppose i think i'm not doing it right!

Tigs

Hi Tigger,

I've managed to drop from 15st 8lbs to 14st 3.5lbs since May. It's been a struggle but I think I've finally found out that I can't keep putting rubbish in my mouth and expecting the weight to fall off overnight - it sure didn't come on overnight and it will take some time to all come off - I'd be happy at 10st but should be somewhere between 7st 12lbs and 9st 12lbs - but I think at 10yrs I was 10 stone so God know's when I last weighed under that!!!!

Starting seeing a dietician on Monday for a couple of weeks so hoping that that will help me along the path.

I'm also slowly starting to exercise more and although I get sciatica occaisionally - it is getting better.

Anyway keep it up and I'm sure they'll work for you.

Keep in touch.

Jane
