Well, I'm 3.5wks on Livial now and I can safely say I have never eaten so much junk!! I've eaten more choc bars in the past 3 wks than I have all year!! it's like my willpower has disappeared so this week am making a conscious effort to calorie count as I've noticed a kilo up already and need to nip this in the bud!! I can def put it down to when I started the tablets.
I'm kinda disappointed in that I suppose am waiting for this "eureka" moment where I get my life back and it hasn't happened.....yet. My brain is still mush. The sweats have disappeared from 10.30pm - 4.30am which is an improvement but now I get a gush of them from 6am onwards which I didn't before.
Hi, my first forum so here goes.
So pleased to read something positive about Livial, I'm only five days in & have two symptons that are new, occasional periiod pains & an anxious, muzzy, stuffy head/ear feeling, which gets worse with stress. I have tried femoston, climagest, kliovance & angeliqu. All had some side effects that I didn't want to continue with. So I am really hoping that Livial is right for me!!
I have a fantastic Dr who is willing to do these trials with me, it's costing me a lot (not as much as private I realise though lol) to keep trying all these but it's worth it to have quality of life as it was dreadful pre HRT, panic attacks, anxiousness, fear, depression, sweats, on/off periods, headaches...the list could go on. I also have high blood pressure so hadvto trial drugs to find the best for me, which I'm happy to say I have finally found!! Love this forum, however really hoping I don't have to start a new discussion with all the poor ladies who have had awful symptoms wuth Livial! Good luck to all ;-)
Hi Wendy woo
Hope things settle down for you. I know when I first started the first few weeks were a bit "scary" as although my flushes and night sweats died dins really quickly it took a bit longer
For the anxiety to calm down. I also experienced the heavy head first
Thing in the morning, and the crampy feelings, although I never actually bled. I also had joint pains in elbows, wrists, knees and ankles. But slowly and surely all
This died away , and at the same time I could feel that memory fog that had been troubling me for a couple of years lifting.
Today 17 months in, i am healthier, calmer and sharper than I have been for at least 10 years. I have gained around 14 pounds in weight but I think that is as much due to sitting at my desk as I have taken on more work than the tablets.
Good luck - I too tried all sorts of HRT - but I really like this one!
Thank you Honeybunches (my hubby calls me that too lol) It's so nice not to be alone, none of my relatives, girlfriends or work colleagues went through what I am going through so I feel very alone sometimes. My husband is great & everyone sympathises with me but it's not the same. Sometimes I just wanna scream...why me? Been going through menopause for five years that I know of & occasionally felt I was losing my mind. I am nnormally a happy positive lady with a brill family but my energy levels & anxiety etc really gets to me every known and then. So glad you feel good, may that continue ;-) Here's to happy times for us all
Had a bad few days with increased hot flushes again through daytime, still trying not to eat too much but feel hungry all the time! Started light bleeding again, has anyone else experienced this? Starting to wonder if this is going to work for me.
Hello Debedee, I feel your pain. Started light bleed today but had a month of bleeding & period pains on my last hrt tabs so fingers crossed this doesn't get as bad eh?! :O
3 month update.
girls am getting I won't say hot flashes like before but for the past 3 weeks am getting slow burns at night. Just wondering if this has happened to you and was it temporary? Am terrified Livial is starting to disagree with me. I've slight joint pain too but if Livial solves everything else, could put up with the aches. Do I persevere or make doctors appt? Couldn't cope with flashes coming back. Slow burns waking me only twice during night and laughing really that am giving out compared to what hot flashes put me through previously but after the first two months of full sleep........I want my sleep back!
My news is not so good. Because of the irregular bleeding GP arranged for me to have scans which unfortunately showed something that needed to be assessed further. GP advised I cease the medication immediately and referred me to a gynaecologist. She is not a great lover of Livial. Anyway to cut a long story short, a smear test also came back showing a problem. This week I had a D &C and a large polyp removed. Now I just have to wait for the biopsy results but she thinks there will be favourable. Two days after ceasing Livial my hot flushes started to increase but the pains I've been experiencing in my hands have almost disappeared (I do have arthritis in my fingers so just thought it was a flareup) I had also been getting pains in my legs but thought it was from walking! I am currently taking another over-the-counter medication and hope that this will keep the hot flushes under control.
Hello Karen427!
I am a 52 year old woman going through the most horrific time of my life! The debilitating hot flashes, the lack of sleep and brain fog have kept me CRAZED for the past two and a half years. After reading about Livial, I am hoping to find it here in the US. As for your diagnosis with Lupus, please know that it is NOT the same disease that say, our mothers may have had to endure. There are many treatments available, and not all of them have to be drugs. As a matter of fact, I was 38 yo when I was diagnosed with Lupus, and the prednisone almost killed me! I prayed about it and took to the web to find answers and while I was searching, there was an link to an ad that sounded like something I would like to know more about for the Lupus. It led me to Synertek Colostrum...a company that I have been buying from since that very day! I buy the lozenges, which taste kind of like berry yogurt melting in your mouth - not a candy, but also not an assault on your taste buds either! I know that it has kept my symptoms at bay for all of these years! It will undoubtedly help you, too. I only wish that it took the menopausal symptoms away! We're all different, and I realize that what works for me might not work for you and so on, but I thought I would say 'thank you' for the encouraging reviews on the Livial - I am going to talk with My OB/GYN tommorrow....well, today actually! LOL! God Bless you as you move along the path of life and remember to LOVE THE JOURNEY!!! We all have so much on our plates these days, it's nice to just breathe in & SMILE OUT sometimes just to keep ourselves sane!
In His Service,
Tracee
Wendy don't let the bleeding go on. I have just had some news today that I need a full hysterectomy have to go and speak to my gynaecologist tomorrow so I'm quite worried. It's important that we all share our experiences. Deb
Anybody have flashes come back after Livial had taken them away? I am having "slow burns and sweating" at night which is wakening me again. Have had 4 months of Livial. Just wondering if they came back, did the flashes/burns stay or go away again? Don't know if I need to make a doctors appt?

Good hear that... M. just wondering...when the hot flashes relieve and stop....i heard my friend saying that she got 1 year...hot flashes..didnt take any supplements or medicine..finally its gone....gradually.... and what happen when we stop the livial....does the hot flashes come back again???....thanks..
I have just started taking Livial and today is day 4 of the tablet. My Doctor told me that it would take approximately one week to feel the benefits. Day 4 and I am experiencing more hot flushes, worse in severity and more frequent.
Can anyone tell me how long, approximately, does it take before I should get some relief ?
I am talking about flushes on average every 30mins to an hour and ranging from mild, moderate, very bad and extreme, the latter being the most common with rivulets of sweat running down my back, arms and chest..
My Doctor said to give it a month but I don't think I can last that long.
Hi. I've just been prescribed Zoladex and livial, and am due my second injection tomorrow, and have been taking livial nearly a month. This was due to recurring Endometriosis which was operated on 7 years ago along with an endometrial ablation. I wasn't suffering with menopausal symptoms except occasional night sweats, but the endo pain was really getting me down along with lethargy. So far so good with it......or so I thought. I feel more alive, endo pain is minimal, and libido has gone up. Then whilst at a friends last night, checked my blood pressure and was worried about how high it is, and the weight gain is evident already. Does anyone know if it settles down given time? I love feeling more energetic, and awake, but concerned at the same time. I will speak to the nurse tomorrow, but would appreciate any comments from anyone who's had similar experience. Thanks
Hi Doolou,
i have been on Livial for 2 years and 3 months now, I was put on it by my gynae for menopausal symptoms. I started my menopause at 38 and went through various different natural and synthetic forms of HRT, but nothing really worked until Ifounf Livial. Almost as soon as I started with this I felt better, as you say more awake, more energy - just everything really. I have to say that I didn't really notice any weight gain maybe a few pounds, but I had put on almost two stone in the two years prior to starting Livial as I felt so awful that I didn't really want to do anything and food was my comfort, I have now started to lose that FINALLY - but it is very hard so maybe that has something to do with the Livial or possibly just my age. My blood pressure is good too.
i do remember when I first started Livial sometimes feeling a little "spaced out" but after about 3 weeks I only had good things to say about it and that is still the case for me.
i am 51 now and will stay on Livial as long as my GP and gynae will let me.
hope this helps.
Honeybunches
Hi from one Tracy to another....
just interested to find out how the Livial is working for you?
i have been on it for over 2 years now and am lucky enough only to have good things to say about it.
Honeybunches (tracy)
Hi Honeybunches,
Thanks for your response. I went today and decided to continue with the treatment, so have had my 2nd Zoladex implant, and will continue with the Livial for the month. I got the nurse to check my blood pressure and it was near enough normal. So think the machine I used the other day was faulty! I am going to go for the full on healthy eating regime and see if I can contain this weight gain before it gets out of hand. As I used to be four stone heavier than my current weight, and am therefore very aware of gaining again. I am pleased to hear your success story and happy for your continuing health and wellbeing. Thanks again.
Thank you! Thank you for sharing!!!! I have just looked this up re arthiritis and livial as I have been taking it for about 5 weeks and wen back to my GP on Monday with very sore fingers. I'm 42 and had a hysterectomy 3 years ago. Anyway I had blood taken 2 days ago and sent for an xray today on my hands for arthiritis. I was sitting in the waiting room and suddenly thought I wondered if these were connected. I am going to stop taking it it and going to go back to the GP to ask for an alternative.
Can anyone recommend any the other HRT's?
Hi Fiona I had heard that livial was good for the aches and pains. I have arthritis but was told this drug would help? I would also be glad to hear what alternatives are out there as the pain seemed to reduce for a bit but now it is bad again? So glad this forum exists this is such a complicated subject and so important to get right. Thank you all.
