Living with the removal of my gall bladder

To begin with, I do wish there was someway the stones could be removed from the gall bladder without having to remove the "Gall Bladder" , i do think it plays a very important part in the digestive system. I had mine removed in 2010, my diarrhea issues began about 4 to 6 months later. I have found that sugar and spicy foods, hot foods, make my diarrhea worst. Eating then walking afterward is a no, no. I lost my sister 4 years ago with digestion complications. She suffered with this problem for many years and she said it actually made so difference what she ate , she still had diarrhea problems. Hers became severe and she lost all her electrolytes and developed diverticulitis problems as well, to the point they thought it was chrons disease. She finally gave in to a choloplasty surgery which might have helped but her surgeon messed up and left a hole in her bowel and a staple , did not correct , after he had many chances and she passed away from sepsis. I am telling this story, because , from her experience, she took, protonix for the nausea, and the growling in her stomach, she took a tremendous amount of Imodium's a day. And finally tried quest ran which, worked but locked her bowels. She loved sweets, so I would say, stay away from sweets and spicy food, she loved them so this was very difficult for her. Anything that makes your body produce more bile, stay away from it. And pray there is someway they will stop removing ones Gall Bladder unless it is absolutely necessary.

Hi Linda:

I had my gallbladder removed in February of this year. I understand what you are saying. The worst part I find is greasey and fatty foods will do it.. My GP told me here in Edmonton, Alberta , Canada, that stress is the main cause of the poops problem. I can eat mostly anything now after this long. Somethings have effect on me and somethings I eat don't. I get constipated too if I eat some certain foods. I have type 2 diabetes so I do have to watch what I eat. The one thing that does bother me and that is sweet is chocolate. That makes me go to washroom. But honestly stress is the main problem. Just try to relax after you eat and take it easy and see what happens. Take care.

I am so sorry about your sister.

I use ox bile and digestive enzymes and have very little issues despite eating low carb and high healthy fats. Maybe try those?
