Hi all, Here's the situation. Im male ,50's in good shape, tall, slim, athletic, non smoker, very little drinker, good diet etc. For more than a year i have suffered abdominal issues which manifest themselves as a feeling of discomfort/low level pain under both ribs. I've been to the doctors quite a few times and have been told its IBS. The thing is, when i check IBS symptoms on the internet, i dont really have them ie i dont have the diarrhea / constipation issues commonly described. Investigations so far.. Stool test showed HPylori, this was treated and eradicated. I noted that after this treatment, my typical weight dropped about 1.5KG and continued to track at this lower level without further reductions. I read that HPylori triple therapy can really wreck your digestive/gut health so put it down to that. I also had a precautionary gastroscopy... it howed a small scale sliding hiatus hernia,,nothing of any great concern. I know i have a single small gallstone which isnt causing any issues. This was spotted on an ultrasound a few years back. 2 years ago i initiated my own on line lab FIT test. It showed nothing A few months ago i repeated the test. It flagged 20ug/g which is almost zero. A follow up UK NHS fit test showed "normal" I have read about splenic and hepatic syndrome. Can you get both together? Even if i try to feel under my lower ribs i cant provoke any pain or reaction. Does this sound familiar to anyone? I'm not dead yet so it cant be significant/serious ?
hey joe sorry to hear you too are going thru this… i have it as well. how would you describe the pain/discomfort under the ribs?
