Hi Judy., so it really can go on forever!!!! So your nearly a year post op. Hope all is ok now.
Also, Judy or anybody else readng this, a year ago I was anaemic. My hemoglobin levels are now normal, but my ferritin (iron stores) are quite low, although
on the up now, slowly, I am always cold (apart when I'm having a hot flush). Does anyone else feel like this if they have low ferritin?
Angie x
Yes I get hot and cold as well my back is hot and my bodies cold thank goodness for hrt
Hi Caroline. I'll probably be noting on that too. Does it help with low mood at all? X
Angie x

Sounds like I'll definately be in need of some then! Ha ha x
Well it mite help my husband calls me grumpy draws haha x
Ha ha. Wonder what my hubby will be calling me.....can't wait lol x
And its better if you have a drink at the weekend don't get the bad hot flushes anymore
Ha ha hopefully. Have only just started to get the hot flushes and they don't seem too bad at the moment, but I do get the night sweats. Wake up quite a few times in the night, thrown the duvet off me, then wake up as I'm cold. Great isn't it? X
Hi Ann. How are you? Hope you are well. Just thought I'd drop you a line to let you know what's going on with me. I had an appointment to discuss things with my consultant today. I havent had a period now for five months, after my last failed ablation, although came off the provera to stop the bleeding on Xmas day, as had been on them too long. I am definately going through the change now and blood tests have well and truly confirmed this along with the hot flushes and nigjt sweets. So NO OP IS NEEDED!!!!😊. The consultant said there is no way she would put me through a major op now that I am no longer bleeding, as that was the reason for the hysterectomy. And reading between the lines I think she thinks I am well and truly into the change so hopefully NO MORE PERIODS!!! The first day of my last period was around 11 months ago I'm hoping she's right lol. The last word she said to me today was 'nature had taken its course'. Such a weight of my mind and my family. Just got to get through the rest of the menapause now lol.
Just want to say thank you for our little chats and all of the advice that yourself and all of the other ladies have given me over the last few months and wish you all well.
Take care Ann xxx
hi there Angie, good to hear from you.So glad everything has been resoled for you as you have had some really bad times, lets just hope it continues now, will keep everything crossed for you. As for me im good i feel fully recovered now and even started my running again although im only doing 4 miles at a time, but i can soon build that up, im twelve weeks post op so i dont think im doing to bad.
The menopause can be a struggle hun but i do believe if you follow a healthy eating plan, and avoid caffeine it really does help. All i suffer a bit with is night sweats and i can manage those everything els is fine no other symptoms, but that is just my opinion haha
take care my lovely and keep in touch xx
Hi ya. Thanks for the menapause advice. Probably need to join a menapause forum now lol. Am coping ok with it at the moment even though it's a bit of a pain in the bum, but we've all got to go through it at some time. How can you run 4 miles.......? I can just about run for the bus hee hee. Yes I do healthy eat, been doing that for 2 years now so hopefully that's helping. I can't believe you're 12 weeks post op already and so glad you're doing really well.
You continue to take care of yrself too and would be good to stay in touch.
Speak soon Ann ☺xx
defiantly stay in touch, keep each other company through all this haha. The running keeps me sane,
4 miles is nothing really but i got to build myself up slowly, My gynaecologist couldnt bekueve hiw well i looked considering i was only 9 weeks post op, so must be doung something right, i do swear by the no caffeine though it helps massively it takes away the mood swings and anxiety i would recommend it anyone.
speak soon and have a lovely easter xx
Thanks Ann and have a lovely Easter too xx
Thats right I had a private hospital under NHS and a fantastic gene which helps no end
i saw consultant xmas eve 2015,he put me on waiting list for total hysterectomy..12th jan 2016 i had my pre op assessment and then had my op 29th Jan 2016,so about 5 weeks from start to finish....x
I was 3 weeks from the previous op but waited quite a time before as I was on holiday and needed plenty of time notice to give work I had a pretty op then the hysterectomy two weeks later in Nov 2015
I was put on waiting list in Oct 2015, had pre-op 24/2/16. Op scheduled for 2nd March '16, it was cancelled on the day.
New op finally done on 23rd March 2016. Mine was total hysterectomy + BSO (both ovaries & tubes).
I am 50 and had been going through menopause for 2yrs, I had a major bleed during the 2 yrs which pit me on the gynea radar, this then started 3 monthly checks with biopsies!
My first scan showed the ovaries had shrivelled but I had a fibroid and was borderline cancer risk. 3 months later had another scan, which showed that one ovary had re-generated. Long story short I pushed for my op early!
Hopefully won't look back. Sorry to have waffled on!
It's good to hear from other people I'm 50 also and had menopause for two years previous b having hysterectomy
