Hi any one on lorzapam and have any tips to help with the withdrawal
im not a doctor but i suggest tapering slowly but discussing that with your doctor. that will make the withdrawals easier to manage and may even get rid of the symptoms altogether. you should never go cold turkey with benzos. the symptoms are more severe depending on how long you have been taking them and the dose you have been taking. usually the onset of symptoms start between 24-72 hours after the last dose. the worst part of withdrawals are in the first week and after that the symptoms start to lessen. in the third week usually people start to feel better. i think the best way to manage symptoms is maybe meditation, breathing techniques, or just chilling and watching videos to get your mind off the feelings. but you should always go to your doctor and talk to him or her about that and start a slow taper. the slower the better. i hope i helped a little
Have you stopped already ? Or going to stop ? If you have stopped what are your symptoms?
Hi it has to be done very slowly to ensure your safety from withdrawal. Ashton manual is the guide that enlightened drs us. How much are you on and for how long have you been taking it for? hope you don't mind my asking. Thanks.
I was on Ativan for sleep 3 mg every night. I was on it for almost 7 months and it stopped working. I didn’t want to go any higher and I knew the with draws would be a challenge. I went through liquid titration about 10% of my dose cut every week. And it took me about six months or so To finally get off it completely. Even after a slow ween I still had some anxiety and panic episodes afterwards, but it didn’t last too long. The Ashton method is really good, which I used as a guide but I was not able to substitute with valium as I don’t tolerate it at all. You can do this!
How many mg are you taking ? I withdrew from lorazepam in 2014. Best advice is that you taper very very slowly. My dr changed me to diazepam because it has a longer half life. It took me 9 months to taper 3 mg. You would want to google Aston Manual which has a very good tapering schedule and an overview of benzodiazepines withdrawals symptoms . Good luck
Cut down by 1/4 every five days...
For example: if you take 2 a day, go down to 1 3/4 a day for 5 days, then 1 1/2 for 5 days.......This is what worked for me, I was helped by a doctor who specialized in stuff like this. I was taking 3 to 4 a day.
Hello ! How many mg we’re you on ?
Because of my extremely low blood pressure only .5mg
That’s not a high dose . Around 5 mg diazapam . You could wean it off easily but do it slowly .
Already off it for years. Caused an array of other health issues, which improved when I stopped.
What issues did it cause ?
Thanks for the advice Jay I haven't started yet but I am realy thinking of coming off it cause its giving lots of aches and pain and a lot of stiffness in my arms shoulders and neck ....
I haven't started to come off them yet as I'm unsure how I will cope with it I've been on them for 4 years 2x1mg per day so I can just function with getting threw the day but the side effects are getting me down ....
