losing hope of having an orgasm on ven-please help!

I'm female and used to enjoy a very healthy sex life. Been on ven for 9 months or so now and i feel fab apart from the fact I can't enjoy sex as I can't orgasm. Please there must be someone out there who can help me. What can I do or take to relieve this horrible side-effect? Curing this would be the icing on the cake for me after a horrific past 12 months!!!

Any suggestions folks?

Hi Molly,

Go to your doc asap. Inability to orgasm is a side-effect of venlafaxine. I'm not sure if your doc can give you something else or will have to change your drug. I took venlafaxine for years not realising this was a side effect - it totally ruined my life.

Hope you can sort it. x

Hi, I hope you dont get offended by this post, I am on Sertraline and I have the same problem. And it is very frustrating. My tablets really suit me other than this problem. My husband and I invested in a Rampant Rabbit. I can assure you this more than sorts the problem out. Its a great compromise.

Unfortunately this is a side effect of alot of medication.

Good Luck.

Hi inability to orgasm or inorgasma is a side effect of a lot of ssris. I took seroxat years ago and endured this effect. It is really horrible as each time you feel as if you want to but you just cannot get there. I also had this with duloxetine. I was told that it would get better in time but it didn't. I am taking mirtazapine and it does not produce inorgasma. I would go back to your GP and discuss it with him possibly ask for a change of anti depressant.

hiya peeps

i was on venlafaxine for 4 years a couple of years back and inorgasma struck, it's a VERY common side effect with ven :?

ask ya doc for viagra or similar, it works for females, the same as it works for men

as a man i wish i could had inorgasma when i was a teenager lol
