I had a major outbreak of dyspepsia about two years ago, I couldn't eat or drink for weeks for no apparent reason. I got diagnosed with dyspepsia and went to a psychiatrist because I was extremely depressed, anxious and unhappy with life. I was prescribed some anxiety medication and as time went by the symptoms subsided and got manageable most days except for days when i knew I had stressful stuff going on, then I felt like vomiting all day and couldn't eat anything. Social life pretty much died out completely for months and just as things were getting better, I managed to gain weight, I was much less depressed and anxious, started going out again, suddenly the symptoms came back two weeks ago, stronger than ever (it was kind of a stressful situation when they came back but nothing that should relapse me and nullify almost two years worth of battling). Lost 15 lbs in two weeks, very dehydrated, barely functioning most days, not able to concentrate, can't eat almost at all, never hungry, always feeling full and very heavy in the stomach etc. Before you ask, it doesn't matter what I eat, no food agrees with my stomach, it wants to throw up everything and anything I put in it, even water. What do I do? Any tips on getting a handle on life again? Should I ask my psychiatrist to up the anxiety dosage again? Might antacids help?
Antacids/PPIs and asking your doctor to up the dose of your anxiety medication may help. I have chronic acid reflux and I find antacids and milk help me. Milk helps to line and soothe the stomach and is gentle. Try small amounts of milk to see how your stomach tolerates it.
