Losing weight without surgery

Dear Reader,

I am not medically trained but I do have Type 2 diabetes. Two years ago I was 31stone in weight. My GP said I had to lose weight as I was already on Insulin and Metformin.

I made up this diet after studying diets on the internet

My weight is now 22 stone and 10 pounds the date is 13th February 2015.

I never feel hungry eating these foods !

Diet That has really worked for me.

Lean beef, Chicken, Lean bacon, Scrambled egg, White fish

Porridge with milled linseed ( up to 1 tablespoon of linseed per day )

Brown rice

Potatoes baked or boiled

Walnuts, Almonds, Pumpkin seeds, Sunflower seeds

Kale, Spinach, Green/French beans

Tomatoes ( not cherry tomatoes )

Lettuce, Carrot, Celery, Swede, Turnip, Olives

Herbal teas – Peppermint, Chamomile

Ripe bananas, Grapes, Kiwi Fruit, Raspberries, Strawberries, Blueberries

Olive oil, Probiotic yogurt

(Make sure you drink lots of water)

I avoid the following foods.

Lemon juice, Vinegar, Chilli, Onion, Garlic

Cherry tomatoes, Butter, Cheese, Animal fats

Dried fruit, Honey, Green bananas

Chocolate, Wheat, Rye, Fruit juice, Ice-cream

Coffee, Tea Black and green, Fizzy drinks, Alcohol

Yes clearly it's made up as it's completely crazy, you advocate the use of alcohol, ice cream and fizzy drinks to lose weight? Also, 31 stone down to 22/33 is a reduction of 8/9 stone in two years, surely being as big as you were any simple reduction in your calorie intake would have lead to this weight loss. I sort of object to the fact you have come on to a forum where the majority of people are discussing weight loss surgery as they have thought long and hard about it; and you've arrived here with an overly boastful post about (a rather slow) weight loss you've had. So it's okay everyone, no one needs to get surgery anymore, just have bacon, ice cream fizzy drinks and booze! When's the Bob-diet book coming out?!

Band man ... You didn't read Bobs diet properly! The ice cream & fizzy drinks etc .. were in the avoided food groups !!!

Please read this diet sheet carefully. Please note the foods I CANNOT eat. I have tried to lose weight for years just like my sister and my mother. It is not about counting calories, this is an old fashioned idea which simply does not work and always leads to failure. Our bodies are much more complicated than some engine in a workshop. Certain foods and food combinations will always make you put on weight ( don't I know it ! ). How many times have you gone on a diet and failed to lose weight or reached so sort of barrier where your weight loss stops. The reason I bothered to put this diet on this forum is because it actually worked. Please read it carefully and research it yourself.
