I think i know why i drink most of the time, its because I find it hard to be interested in things like watching tv, playing games and socializing while sober. Anyone else have this problem and drink because of it?
I feel ya. I'm only on day 5 and I'm SO BORED!!! Even though I have a ton of stuff to do, none of it seems fun enough to do without a little buzz 
I guarantee you that most alcoholics have that problem Matey, though the fault doesn't lie with tv, games or socialising. The fault, if you wish to call it that, lies with us and our laziness/difficulty in finding alternatives to those mundane and prosaic everyday things. Alternatives that have the ability to draw us in to the point of forgetting we need them as distractions are very hard to find. Perhaps you might extend your vision from the everyday and seek alternatives, though don't ask me..I can't find 'em either. Though I do find that looking for them distracts me enough to help.
Wow, that was the longest-lasting, toughest urge yet. I actually got really angry at being sober once I thought of how boring life had become, and questioned whether sobriety is worth it. Finally passed....phew
of course we all like a roller coaste ride!! For certain!! Yes, this is BOORING but you have to stick with it. Treat yourself to something you would not normally buy or do IF you can afford but do hang in there! Best of luck to you Ozm.

i feel off the wagon last Thursday, no particular reason. Took my selincro, but still got through 2+ bottles of wine over a meal, and I am not sorry, I was having a good time!!!
now I am back on the straight and narrow and fel that I did something 'normal' if feels good!!!
