Lost period for one year and have excessive weight gain??!!

Hello everyone I've got quite a problem and I am hoping someone out there can give me some help. In 2016 of October I had my last period and it is now February 2018.

In November of 2016 I moved to Los Angeles with my boyfriend. We were in a long distance relationship before the move so when we got to see each other it led to a lot of sex multiple times. The first day I moved to LA we had sex and then a little bit after I started bleeding like an actual blood color instead of normal period color, but I brushed it off thinking I was getting my period already. Fast forward through the year of 2017 and I started realizing I was gaining weight. My first thought was that maybe I was pregnant, so I took tests and they kept coming up as negative. 9-10 months past the " im pregnant "idea/stage and i realized that there was no way i could be pregnant or id have given birth by now. Throughout the entire year of 2017, I did not get my period. I have gained maybe 30-40 pounds in the entire time I have lived here. (Nov 2016 to Feb 2018) . I used to weigh around 113-125 pounds (I can't remember exactly)...and today I weigh around 155-160 pounds and you can really tell i have gained. I am around 5'2 so this is not a healthy weight as a bmi calculator says I am overweight&obese.

How can i get my period back? Will the weight gain stop? I have been trying to exercise more often. What do you think caused this? Thanks >_<

Ps... I am 20 years old. Sorry forgot that info lol

Are you on bc? And was the blood after sex recently or a year ago? Does it happen often?
