Hi, I desperately need help. I can not taste anything at all and I don’t know why or how and I can’t find anything online about what I am dealing with. I ate something one day, then the following morning I couldn’t taste anything. Went to the doctor and they only told me to wait it out since I could smell, but not taste. It’s been 2 weeks and I still can not taste anything. I haven’t had any dental injections, didn’t burn my tongue , nor oral thrush. I have no appetite since I can’t taste and everday is terrible without taste and I’ve already lost a lot of weight. I deal with gerd but I don’t know if it could’ve caused this type of damage to my tongue. Has anyone gone through anything similar where they’ve lost their taste completely? And have you gotten your sense of taste back, and if so how long did it take? Is there anything I can do ? I am only 24 years old, please help me.

hi. I haven’t lost taste but have lost sense of smell in the past. It did come back. You really need to go back to your doctor. Ask to be seen by a neurologist. Good luck.
