LOT'S of questions regarding anal herpes

So I have a strange case, I feel it’s pretty unique and can’t find the answers from google and other resources.

Long story short, I had my first signs of anal herpes EXACTLY one year ago, and I’m having my second outbreak right now (within days of a calendar year). The first outbreak was maybe a dozen or more sores, including rectal bleeding, and LOT’S of pain for what lasted almost a month. Currently I’m experiencing just two sores, and they’re finishing their cycle with almost zero pain or discomfort in about a week. I’m a heterosexual male, never been with a guy before, but I do enjoy the occasional anal play with past girlfriends, and now my current fiance’ and the person I was with when it first occured. After being in a committed relationship with her for almost two years, It first started with a small cluster of sores that appeared on the outer portion of my butt cheek, NOT EVEN CLOSE to the hole, and spread inward eventually affecting the entire anus. It was painful as ■■■■, and even more scary. I went to the doctor, and was diagnosed positive. I cant remember exactly, which HSV it is, but I think I remember it being type 1, the doctor telling me it being more common orally, and outbreaks occur less often and less severe when they do. To this day, I don’t know exactly how I contracted the virus, it could have been (though unlikely I know) from a tanning bed I used a few days prior because it started clearly where my cheek would be placed against the glass of the bed. Or it could have been my girl licking down there maybe a week before that, even though she has never had a cold sore. I’ve kind of come to accept I will never really know how I got it, but just accept that I do and move on.

So here are my questions. Regardless of how I contracted the virus, I live in total fear of spreading it to myself in other places, and of course giving it to her. Since it is anal herpes, can my penis also be a point of contraction for her, even if none of the fluids have made contact with that area? Can the fluid touch my scrotum or penis and give me genital herpes?

When I use a towel after the shower, is it now contaminated, and should be washed after each use? How long does the virus stay alive on other objects like underwear? Is my penis even a point of risk if I’m not experiencing any symptoms? Am I being paranoid washing down there with soap, then washing my hands again with soap just to make sure?

Obviously I’ve asked a lot of questions, so help answering any of them would be appreciated greatly.
