low IGG AB results twice

Back on July 12, I got a full STD test. Everything was negative, except herpes type 2 IGG came back at a 1.01, which falls in the equivocal range (.91 - 1.09). About five weeks later I was retested and I (barely) tested positive at a 1.19. I have never shown symptoms and these are still very low results, even after five weeks. Is it safe to say that with even a low positive result, that I definitely have the virus? Or would it be worth having the Western Blot done? My doctor was not very useful in giving me information. I'd like to just have the peace of mind of knowing whether it is positive or not. Any and all feedback is welcome. Thank you.

Were you negative for HSV-1? Was there a reason why you got tested in July, like a recent risky encounter? If yes and yes, I would do the IgG test again at 12+ weeks. Five weeks is too soon after exposure/infection.

I had the std test because I never had one before and a new partner and i agreed that we would both do on to air on the safe sixe. She was negative for everything. I was originally negative to hsv-1. I did not have that retested.

Interesting. Well, if you have had no recent risky encounters and no symptoms ever, then perhaps you just score a bit higher for some reason (usually being positive for HSV-1 can do that with the HerpeSelect IgG test, but you're negative). I know that is not exactly reassuring, so you may wish to consider the UoW western blot, but the latter is not cheap.
