Hi,
I’m looking for advise on a varicocele and sharp pain in my lower left abdomen.
I have lower left abdominal pain just above the crease where the thigh meets the lower abdomen. This pain is sharp and gets worse whilst driving or walking for a long period of time. It is always prominent and the pain ranges from discomfort to painful.
I also have a varicocele in my left testicle and enlarged/ swollen vein in my left top thigh/ crotch accompanied with this pain as this started at the same time. These are also painful and the swollen vein seems to cause muscle cramp in the thigh as well.
It was suspected that the pain in my abdomen was a hernia as there was a slight bulge and a vein had appeared there at the surface. However I have been to two consultants and they have said there is nothing obvious from a CT scan and abdominal ultrasound 4 months ago.
I recently had a scrotal ultrasound 4 weeks ago and they scanned my kidneys as well as my testicle. After this I was told that there was a varicocele in the left testes with slight inflammation.
I have now had this for 2 years and been to the doctors hundreds on times. I’m currently waiting on the results from the ultrasound but I know it’ll be an unresolved case.
