For a few years now, I been having flare ups of lower left side pain, sometimes they hurt really bad in the past, sometimes it feels like spasms, air moving from the front of my stomach down to my backside. I had various blood test and urine test last 2017, it was normal. in 2018 I saw blood in stool and had the stool test then was reffered to see a gastroenterologist. He thought it was probably IBS or a condition like colitis. My appointments kept being moved, they took long, was having an emotional breakdown due to personal problems and things just happened that made me have to cancel the appointment, which now I maybe shouldn't have done. Last year I was fine, I thought, whatever it was, it's gone now. I probably had the occasional cramps in my lower left side, but nothing as bad as before, or notice often. This year it has started again, but really mild and just there lke a painless sensation. Occasional spasms, bloating or trapped air feeling, but nothing that's preventing me from doing anything. I don't drink much water before going to bed, because sleeping on my right gives me bad pain on my lower left side that goes away after urinating. I cut down on dairy again and less fried foods. Running, cycling and being active helps relieve it. I still got the tablets my gp gave to me for IBS, it helps a little. Even if the symotoms are mild, and and almost not there all the time and might go again, I'm really unsure if I would be too much of a bother going to ask my GP for a re-referral? Waiting times on the NHS take up to 18 weeks, sometimes more than that. Which has put me off really ...and made me regret cancelling it especially when it comes back. I saw on the internet that a hospital one hour from here and closer than the last one has a gastro doctor, would a gp refer to any hospital or does it have to be the one they choose?
