Lower right back and right abdominal pain

I have very bad pain on my right back especially the lower part (and sometimes the right shoulder) and the right lower abdomen. I had this pain somewhere in 2017 to 2018 June and it stopped. In 2019 they dud an ultrasound scan and found nothing suspicious. The doctor did a pathological test two weeks ago and when the results came they showed that my cholesterol was a bit high 1.7 which the doctor said isnt really cayse for concern. However the results also showed that i am ASOT positive and he concluded i have an inflammation probably on my right kidney. He then gave me pain killers and antibiotics plus a gell to rub on the painful areas. Although i have been taking this till monday the damn pain still there. It reduces to a small extent. My painkillers are now done and i only have 3 antibiotic pills left. I am really worried wondering maybe something more serious like cancer might be going on in there. I seem to be healthy though, my body weight is normal and i still have appetite. I workout a lot too. Anyone that maybe has a suggestion on what should i do or whether there is still time for thus antibiotics to heal me?

Hi Franki13

Did you have a Streptococcus nfection before your diagnosis was made. High ASOT levels usually present after a strep infection. Also, you mention you work out a lot perhaps you should cancel working out for a while as it may be putting a strain on your kidneys as intense exercise can affect your adrenals that sit in top of the kidneys… finish the AB’s give working out a rest for a few weeks, if the pain is still there go back to your doctor…best wishes..

Thank you. I have placed the working out on hold for now. I went for a CT scan yesterday and they did not find any abnormalities in my abdomen. The doctor now thinks the only possibilities are surgery adhesions from the appendectomy or swelling of the bowel after eating. But shes busy looking into all these.

And by the way i think i had a Streptococcus infection a month ago since i had a sore throat but the doctor said it can not cause this kind of pain.

Hi Franki13
Good your CT Scan was clear. Listen to your doctor she is the professional. I hope whatever is causing your pain will be diagnosed soon. Don’t get anxious about the pain if possible because anxiety can make abdominal pain worse…best wishes…
