I was diagnosed with LS in November 2013. I also have Type 1 diabetes and IBS.
In the past I have been tested for coeliac but the result was negative.
However, after reading on an American site about the impact of diet i am considering adopting a gluten free diet to see if this helps at all. Like many of you I will try anything to help this horrible illness.
Just wondered if anyone else has had any success either with a gluten free diet or other specific diets.
Thanks
Fiona
Because you have an autoimmune condition and have developed LS which is definitely linked I would
consider looking at either a GI diet or visit Organic Sisters , a brilliant web site with an good range of recipes
I have Hashimoto hypothyroidism which I was told have an autoimmune antibodies not good news was told I would probably develop a heart condition , Diabetes , or Addison's or Rheumatoid arthritis I drew the short
straw instemic heart disease . Anyway LS developed too and was told these conditions are all linked to the
antibodies . It makes good sense to support your body with a good wholesome foods and cutting out sugars which is a 'dead food' you are better off using raw organic honey as a sweetener , good luck
I drew a short straw too. I have IBS, Diabetes, Angina, Arthritis, Vetiligo, vertigo, tinitus, dry skin everywhere, flat feet with an oseles bone (extra bone causing nerve pain in my feet) and LS. I am also overweight. Taking control now. going to lose weight and start living a more healthy lifestyle. Better late than never.
Sounds like a good move! Please keep us posted.
