I was feeling better thinking I had calmed my LS down, and I was hoping the calm period would last until my app't with the specialist next month. I had been so raw from front to back that I stopped using the Clob and started cream for yeast infection. I thought it could be one of those two things since I kept getting worse. I continued using the emul oil. Anyway it felt much better until today. Maybe it was a dumb thing to do ,but I did some yoga on the floor with my granddaugther. When I felt pulling I just readusted myself. Later today, I did garden work. I hadn'r done any physical activity for 6 or 7 weeks so I really over did it I guess. Tonight, I see raw areas that have come back and there is some itching . Could it be getting hot made it worse, along with the activity? Will I ever be able to exercise without it hurting ? The exercise doesn't bother that much , but I really like working in the garden. But it gets very hot here, today it was 88... last week in the 90's. I know sweat makes LS worse.
Or maybe it isn't the yoga or garden because I have been sressed the last day..very. How long does it take for the stress to show up as a flare...day?
Judy
I found if I put Clobetosol on before I go to bed and in the morning after I shower I spray with bi carb or salt water sprays. Put sudacreme (cream you would put on a bab's bottom) on during the day which acts as a barrier and is really soothing. Nothing ever works totally but at least it is giving some relief. Good luck
Hi Judy!
I just started with a new gynecologist who told me she felt that I had been overusing the clobetesol. She said you can get a rebound affect by overusing it and then you get more itchy! The clobetesol is also very strong and can thin the skin as well.
Perhaps this is happening with you.
It sounds like you just overtaxed your body. The yoga, followed by gardening would do the same to me! I try not to overheat, I live in a hot climate, so it makes sense that becoming overheated will have a detrimental effect on my crotch, and so I walk my dogs early in the morning, and early evening, when it is cooler, as it is simply too hot. I think if you just rest up for a couple of days things should return to normal, and then maybe next time perhaps do either your yoga, or gardening, but not both in one day.
So sorry to hear of your discomfort, I have hadLS for seven years, I use E45 wash when I wash or shower, and the Dermovate a little each day, when under control I use the Dermovate just twice a week, I know sweat does make it worse, always wear 100% cotton underwire hope this a little helpful, and good luck. Jo
Hi Judy
Yeh, just when you think you have it sussed up it comes again. I have had a lovely few days with not much to talk about and this morning I am burning at the front really bad. Also, I dont know if anyone else has suffered with this but since last Friday ( 4days ago) my face has flared into red blotches and cracks on corners of my mouth and eyes. It is burning like sunburn and the skin feels bumpy and sore. Does anyone think this is part of LS or something totally different.
If I'm stressed, easy 24 hours for something to happen
Hi Judy, sorry you feeling so rotton. The red blotches and bumpy hot feeling on your face sounds like an allergy to me.... Could it have been something from the gardening you did? I think your GP is the one to ask and let him see your face.Hope you can get to see him, if it's anything like here getting a Doctors appointment is a lottery!
Sending sympathy and thoughts, hope you get some relief, our bodies seem much more fragile than we all seem to realise.
Hugs,
Yvonne
Sorry I think I mixed my replies there... I should have said to Hi Glynn about your symptoms of burning red bumpy skin on face. Sorry....!
Hugs
Yvonne
.
Sorry you are having soreness judy.
Could be your adrenal glands because both emotional stress and physical stress cause adrenal glands to produce chemicals and chemicals from the adrenal glands are inflammatory.
May be better to do physical exercise at a gentle pace when your mind is calm.
Just a thought.
I also was thinking I was getting on top of it. Very little itching and burning anymore. But to my dismay... Here I am struggling again. I knew I was getting a little careless about my diet, I was stressed AND on Sunday I was at an event that I was very active and it was hot! My back was wet with sweat! I haven't been diagnosed too long and I felt so deflated and sad and depressed at the set back. This requires such vigilance. My conclusion... The sweating, stress and sugar and possibly too much gluten. This is life changing.
Yes it is - it took me a long time to realise just how much. However now that I have it is a little easier. I just wish medical science would catch up for us x
glyn, I don't know, but I'm beginning to believe almost everything can cause a flare and can be related to LS. I guess that is because LS is related to our immune system being messed up. I know since I have been diag. with LS I am constantly wondering what has caused it to get worse or I'm trying different things hoping they will help. LS really consumes your thoughts, at least mine, from day to day. I have had itching and breaking out around my stomach to my back. I've wondered if it is just my immune system acting up or maybe stress.
Thank you deb, I kinda thought that it didn't take long. Well with 8 grandkids, 4 kids, and a husband, I am stressed a lot. I have got to work on being less stressed.
Thank you Jo. It does help. I just ordered a cotton bra. When I learned I had LS and after reading this forum, I ordered cotton panties. I have been just using the bc spray to clean, but just ordered the E45 bath wash. I learn so much from this forum. And I try just about everything that is suggested. I appreciate all the help. Everyone here is great !
Since I was feeling almost normal, although I still had redness and some raw areas, it did occur to me that maybe I didn't really have LS. Instead it was just post-menopausal, yeast infection, and reaction to the clob that I really didn't need. DENIAL ! Thank you for responding Guppy.
Carley, I think I have been overusing it. I stopped for 10 days. Now I having started using it again...last night. I am only going to use on Mon, Wed, Fri. I just keep reading and experimenting with different suggestions I get from you ladies. Thank you.
Norma, that makes sense.. how they are connected . I am really uninformed but am going to read up on it. Like I've said, I'm learning so much from you ladies. In some ways, having LS may actually make us healthier if we watch our diet, watch our stress. My skin may even improve, I put emul oil not just on my privates but arms, legs, face.
It might be Urticeria, not sure, look online for comparisons, but your better off seeing your doctor or dermatologist. I have Urticaria unfortunately, it runs in my family, and it comes and goes, allergies to food trigger it, as does exercise sometimes (getting overheated)
