Hi Alex, In the picture it looks like you've got a lot of blood vessels breaking along with the skin split. I am so sorry you are having to deal with this. Absolutely it is painful. Has your doc not prescribed a treatment or a topical gel for this condition? May I ask how old you are? Am wondering if you've lost collagen and fibrin and that's why your superficial layers are splitting. Have you seen a good dermatologist? If not, that would be my next move. Did this splitting just start? I'd stay away from vaseline and choose polysporin but not neosporin. You might try "newskin" it's a brush-on liquid skin protectant. No bandage required. Possibly Extra virgin coconut oil or Vitamin E. Let us know and take care.
Thanks for your response. I am 52 years old.
I have been working with my gynaecologist and basically he had said there is really nothing you can do about this.
I use clob, estradiol cream and he said you can use hemorrhoid cream and diaper cream with zinc.
Thanks for the advice with the dermatologist I never thought of this and yes it is very painful.
I have seen a few gynecologists who disagreed on what the real problem was. Actually I have 4 different diagnoses :( But the two docs who think mine is LS also said "no cure." They just say you have to manage it. I researched the collagen issue and tried taking oral collagen for 6 months but that didn't help. Some dermatologists prescribe the laser but maybe not for you. Others are trying the platelet plasma to regenerate skin I have tried hemorrhoid cream and it helps a little but the coconut oil/olive oil seem to be best. There's also Vit A & D cream but get the brands without parabens or pthalates as they cause less irritation. The more I look at the picture the less I think it looks like LS.
Try topical estrogen cream. I found that once I started to use it my skin lost it's delicateness and didn't tear. You can use premarin or you can have it compounded (which is what I do).
