LS around back passage

Help - anyone else experienced this. I have been backwards and forwards to my GP and a dermatologist for about a year who have all said eczema. Last week saw someone different in dermatology who said its Lichen Sclerosis but around the back passage inseatd of vulva. I have been presecirbed a cream called protopic which on reading about has lots of side effects. Anyone help me with what they have used ?

Heres hoping

Hiya

I have finally been diagnosed and have LS both in the vulva area and back passage. It has spread so quickly and is now none reversible and very painful. The only thing I can say is make sure your doctor keeps an eye on this condition as its awful when it gets as far as mine.

One good thing I have found helps me cope when it flares up and the itching starts is a luke warm bath with a small amount of TCC - About 4 cap fulls in the bath works wonders to stop the inflammation. Have been itching since tea time and after a quick bath at 6pm - I am really comfy.

Try and stick to a steroid cream when you get real bad flare ups - but in between I used Germaliods cream for piles as it has an antiseptic in it. Also an anti-histamine tablet just before bed helps me greatly. Good luck - anything is worth a try.

Thanks for that, I will go and get some tomorrow because I'm exhausted with this. cant sleep and cant sit. feel totally down about it. Am using Clotrimazole because the doc says its thrush, but it still itches even when I put the cream on.

Hi

How did you get on with the anti-histamines and TCP?

I know it can be so tiring - especially when you have been scratching all night and have to get up for work.

Because you look physically OK - no-one knows what your going through and its awful. Like a walking zombie some times. I describe it to my husband as having ants running all over the area....that got the message across. ha ha
