Ls paladin cream

Hi

I was wondering if any of you ladies have tried paladin cream? I believe it is available to buy in the uk now.

I would love to know if this is truly effective or if not paladin then anything that helps to take out the redness and sore areas.

I am 51 years old and have had Ls for about 15 years my condition worsening all the time. I use the dermovate twice weekly and more with flare ups.

I am looking for an additional cream to use along side of the dermovate and to restrain from using the dermovate as much.

If you would like to try something more natural...but that works well...try spraying the area with witch hazel, dab dry and apply 98% to 100% aloe vera gel. Both healing, moisturizing and soothing. Also, 15% or higher Manuka honey put on the areas at night time with cotton panties. It is well know by the medical society that Manuka honey has amazing healing abilities. It is expensive, but a small jar lasts a long time.  I just use a cotton swab to take a little out and then smooth it over all areas. This helps with healing, itching and reducing any thickening of the skin. Give it a try...I don't believe you will regret it.

Have you any ideas pammy what set your lichens off I think mine started after an abnormal smear test and starting menopause

Take care. Karen

Hi Karen I've had 2 lots of letz to get rid of pre cancerous cells on the cervix I know they say LS is not inside the vj but I'm convinced this is connected jx

Hi justine

I am convinced it's connected I had same as you for pre cancer in cervix and a short time after my dentist diagnosed me with lichen planus that was about 13 years ago it's much worse now I am 57 and I think going through the menopause also doesn't help because the cells are not repaired the same. The itching drives me mad. How old are you justine and when did you have treatment fir precancer xx

From what my specialist informed me the ls when present can cause pre-cancerous cells on the smear test.  That has always confused me as I thought ls did not affect inside the vagina.  Lots of people have mentioned having abmornal smear results when suffering ls. I no longer have to worry about cervical cancer as to be sure I had a total hysterectomy.  It is too painful now for an internal exam.  I just have to hope that I do not develop a problem in my vagina.

Hi Chrissy

Did you have precancerous cells before your hysterectomy and how long ago X

Yes,  I was 50 at the time and just starting to go through menopause.  I had a colposcopy (A biopsy of the servix) after the first abnormal smear then a second colposcopy following a subsequent 2nd abnormal smear.  I decided to have the hysterectomy as I no longer wanted/ or probably could even have children, rather than worry all the time.  I am now 59.  My ls was diagnosed about 4-5 years later although I now know I probably had it from my teenage years intermittently throughout my life.  It prgressed dramatically following my hysterectomy.

I'm 57 Chrissy and I know how you feel it's an absolute nightmare bloody scratching all the time even my scalp Iv just got some shampoo from the doctor I really don't think anything shifts it but the sweating also aggravates it X

I'm 45 and in Perimenapause which has made things much worse. 1st time I had pre c cells I was 25 2nd time I was 40. But if I have a smear it always says extreme imflamation, which I think is connected to LS, only time will tell and more research.

Hi pammy

Do hope your okay and make a quick recovery just wondering if you have had any problems with cervical smears in the past Xx

Are your smears uncomfortable justine only mine are awful last time I bled a bit and do you have itching anywhere else Xx

Hi Karen

No all my smears have been fine. I do have a low cervix which protrudes (makes my LS feel worse) I had a partial hysterectomy. I just suffer badly with the LS around my vaginal entrance . Hope you manage to kept well take care

Yes I always bleed. And my cin didn't show on smear it was because I was bleeding after sex that they did treatment then discovered I had cin 2and 3 so always worried now x

It's never ending justine I am the same I'm sick of it constant worrying can't get on with my life just constantly hangs over me x

Hi pammy i too would be interested in hearing if anyone has gotton relief from paladin cream as i have ordered it with the hope it might xx

I know sometimes it's so annoying. But I find talking to all you girls really helps I've learnt so much from this site xx

Hi Karen,  someone told me to try baby's cradle cap shampoo.  I did and have found it excellent.  Just a thought for you.  No irritation at all.

Oh right Chrissy thankyou so much for that I will get some on my way home from work xx

I can't wait to finish work.... I am really quite sick of it now, how are you doing Chrissy xx
