Lump in throat? Anxiety?

I've been really stressed out over my health for the last couple of weeks. I went to the hospital more than a few times, they checked everything and sent me home each time saying I was perfectly fine. I've been able to grasp my heart rate (sort of) through meditation but now I have what I can only describe as a lump in my throat. Almost like a pressure in my throat. I was coughing a little earlier but it was nothing over the top and I haven't coughed since. The "lump" has been there for a few days and really it just is an annoyance. I'm not super worried about anything other than my health, and I just want it to go away. I don't have a doctors appointment for another few weeks so I guess I'm scared. I started Effexor a week ago, but I don't think that has anything to do with it.

Sorry for rambling and if you could give me any tips on what to do that'd be great!! thanks.

Hi Sarah,

I've dealt with that same feeling on and off for a while now, and it always comes back to anxiety. I can't post any links here, so do a search for Globus Hystericus. This will explain what's going on, and you can also find videos that help relieve it.

Hi,it could be that your throat is tight from anxiety, i had the lump feeling for months, turned out it was from a form of acid reflux that makes it all the way up a persons throat,it did eventually go away because i really watched what i ate and lost weight.
