Male, 22 years old. So a couple weeks or so back I discovered a small lump near my anus (outside, so believed it external) when wiping with some cheap toilet paper. About pea sized. The size hasn't changed at all since I found it. The lump itself, when I poke it, doesn't seem to hurt or anything. It also hasn't bled at all with bowel movements. I believe it may have started shrinking a little. Is this something to worry about and should I bother checking with a doctor? I ask since it has been the holidays and they don't do any appointments until March at the soonest and there are only a few walk-in hours in a day. Which would take up at least one day, if I am lucky.
if it is a hemorrhoid, it can take up to 2 weeks to improve. But small ones usually clear up with basic care
Some places, especially for external, say up to two months though. I’d assume around a month I’d want to check with a doctor? I can’t exactly see what it looks like to see if it is perianal hematoma
No question it can take longer. But I think more typical is a few weeks. I would go to doc if there is ongoing pain and discomfort
