Hi everyone, firstly isn't this forum just marvelous for getting support and answers. I am 5 weeks post op today and I am seeking I think reassurance more than anything that things are normal. I have tried to avoid heavy lifting and when I have overdone sitting /standing and my body has ached a little down there i have listen and had a floppy day as one of you other ladies nicely put it. But the other day I had my grandson and he was really good but fell over and I caught him instinctively he weighs 15Kg so really concerned. Did feel anything wrong, utterly exhausted but put that down to being a long 10hr day. Next day I find long stitches coming away - they are clean and there is no bleeding or anything but the whole area feels heavy, so resting up for nexxt few days. I had a feel inside to see if it was bleeding and so to my questions. You ladies that are more post op than me can you tell me does it feel lumpy inside your vagina and do the walls still bulge in? I can gently push them back and I know it is normal for it to be a bit tight so not worried there but the bulging walls make me worry that the stitches I found ahve come from there. I see my specialist in 2 weeks but it would be great to hear if this is normal. Last question if this is normal the bulging lumpy walls does your partner feel them when you have sex? I am a long way from having sex and won't even try till it no longer stings and after my post op checkup but not what I was expecting. Appreciate all replies and happy healing thgoughts to all recovery ladies
Hi, I'm only 4 weeks post op and i have really lumpy bumpy walls, still very swollen and as yet no stitches have come away. I am wondering how on earth things will ever feel 'normal' again down there, sorry if this is over-sharing or TMI but I couldn't even get my little finger in to try and have a feel of how things are healing when I was in the bath today!
tilley what you feel is swelling from the surgery and it will subside over time. You haven't made things worse and it was probably just a coincidence your stitches came away at the same time.
hi, im 30 days post bladder repair with stitches and i also have lumps so much so i have convinced myself my original or another prolapse has developed ,looks just awful in the mirror, i have been reasurred on here that this is normal so hopfully when i see my doctor next week she will say the same, im constantly checking it in the mirror , n feeling for more lumos, ive never paid this much attention to my vagina in my life lol x
thanks Matron for your guidance and reassurance as always I feel so more at ease after your advice, Have a great Easter and hope the bunny brings you lots of chocy.
Thanks for sharing , if your post TMI then mine was too but it was concerning me. Great reassurance from matron. Happy Easter xx
Thanks for sharing Helen, makes me feel reassured and less like my op has failed. Let me know what your doctor has to say. Happy Easter.
I always say so keep checking because after any operation the area that's been operated on is not pretty and unless you have some knowledge of what to expect you are obviously going to worry yourselves sick. It is very very rare for another prolapse to occur so soon after surgery. Remember you've been prodded and poked around that area so it's inevitable you'll get swelling and bruising.
Should say don't keep checking....
Totally agree matron wish I hadn't started checking as its worried me sick , this lump I'm feeling was there when I first checked 2 weeks post op so I'm probably stressing over nothing I do wish I'd never checked as I'm constantly thinking about it and it's getting me so down xx
It's tempting I know but in all honesty I never did look.
i will do , happy easter to you
