Lung.

I have been feeling unwell for the last few months. Started with nausea. night sweats, back/shoulder/neck ache, feeling like i can't get a full breath and sometimes i can here a crackling sound when i breath in bed. Had all my bloods done and all were ok, 3 drs have listened to my lungs and they were clear and had my oxygen levels checked and they were 98%. My gp said gerd/acid so i have been on lanserapole since thursday but don't feel any different. It feels like it's my lungs.

How old are you, have you had weight loss, ever been a smoker , lived abroad, or worked with asbestos? Did they do your thyroid function test, ESR/CRP and chest X-ray?

I am 45 an ex smoker, no weight loss, i stopped about 8 yrs ago, never lived abroad, never worked with asbestos. I think they did all them bloods but no x ray. She listened to my lungs and checked my oxygen levels which were fine.

Suggest you ask for a Chest X-ray and if possible spirometer with the GP nurse (some GPs have a respiratory nurse who will do it) and ask if you have had a CRP ESR with the blood tests. I presume you are not menopausal or you would have said?!

No not menopausal.

Hi Dianne:  You need to see an experienced Pulmonolgist ASAP.  Are you still having night sweats??  Just because your lungs sound ok doesn't mean there is nothing wrong.  You need to have a CT Scan done of your lungs.  My pulmonolgist said 85% of all lung disease is missed by just doing a normal chest x-ray.  I was diagnosed with Nocardia Nova and Bronchiectasis back in 2008 but that was after months of being really really sick and having many Drs tell be nothing was wrong with me which was really far from being true.  Not saying you have that but you could have any number of lung diseases.  I also had Mac Lung Disease in Dec. of 2011 and some of your symptoms sound like Mac also.  What part of the Country do you live in??  My lungs always sounded pretty decent till they looked at the Cat Scan.  Let me know if you have any questions I wish you the best of luck.

I live in cumbria, north of england nikongirl. When i had the first night sweat my whole body was drenched but it's more like clammy every night on my chest and behind my knees and elbows. I have a stiff neck which was my right side but now it's also my left. My daughter could hear the crackling in the back of my throat last night in bed and she said right away it sounded like popping candy. I have right sided back/shoulder ache and feel tired all the time.

the nausea is the key symptom here.  give the lansoprazole a chance.  also - don't eat fatty foods last thing at night.  Be careful with the lansoprazole long term as it can deplete your bone density.
