Hi, I have been taking prednisone for 16 months, Imuran for 3 months, I am not taking any vitamins but I want to start taking a multi vitamin D and calcium. Anyone taking prednisone and imuran and also vitamins. If so, which vitamins. Thanks☺

My grandmother prescribed prednisone for 5 months and plaquenil for 3.5 months. No vitamins. But after finishing the treatment course, rheumatologist gave her vitamin D and lupufree. Now, her lupus is relieved more, my grandmother also eats omega 3, vitamin A, C, E foods to boost her immune system. I think your body can get vitamins from foods
Is it safe to be on pred for a long time? It makes me feel so amazing on it but I was scared of the side effects. Have you gained weight on it?
I’m on 5000 units of vitamin D per day. I was on prednisone as well for the first 6 weeks but was told you can’t take it long term. I really wish I could because it is like a magic drug for me. All my pain goes away while I’m taking. That said, I was told it is very bad for your bones as well as other things. I’m also on Methatrexate, folic acid, and plaquinel.
