I have been diagnosed with Sarcoid for 4 years. Originally finding a swollen hard gland in my collar bone.
Lungs affected too.
Recently noticed a gland in my groin which feels the same.
I don't know how long it has been like that but just wondered if anyone else had also found other glands after being diagnosed.
I am currently being investigated for prostatitis so it may be to do with that. But it feels like the other gland did when first diagnosed
Speaking to my gp this week to ask for biopsy
Thanks guys
hi paul it could be Sarcoidosis related and please ask your doctor for a biopsy to confirm this,,,I don't want to scare you but a good friend of mine was told he had sarcoid granulomas in his neck chest, he wasn't given treatment straight away and missed some appointments.
It turned out he had hogdekins lymphoma, he sadly passed away a few years ago now.
The sarcoidosis can mimick many diseases and some people have said it's almost like cancer because it can attack any part of your body.
I'm sorry if that's a bit harsh but please find out what it is you've got and arm yourself with as much knowledge as you can find,
Wow! Mine is disseminated which is the same as metastasized, Dr thought I had lymphoma until they cut me from stem to stern; I haven’t had to be on prednisone for 3 years but lucky me I’m back on. I got sick in January I couldn’t take chemo, which is how they control mine and I got behind the 8 ball and haven’t been able to get ahead since then I had chemo yesterday but had to start prednisone therapy as well, I have a week if not better I’ll go to the hospital for intravenous steroids 1000 mg a day. Thank God for ports. But to you initial question I do have several nodules just found two on my thyroid.
Peter I’m glad you found the words to be so blunt. Well said, I’m not sure I have mentioned this but mine is treated with a form of chemotherapeutic once a month. I’m in a tail spin right now. This is a reminder to all take this disease serious we can only manage the symptoms so please don’t let anything get out of control we each know our bodies better than anyone else. This forum is for support but any challenge you face don’t hesitate a second opinion. I almost died in 2011 thinking I was depressed, I was in renal failure, I as well developed latent TB from all the biologics they have tried; this is why I’ve stayed on this forum to help in anyway I can. God speed to all of us, amen.
Paul please read my response to Peters reply to you. Please feel free to ask anything that can help. Do you mind disclosing what area you live in? It might help lead you to treatment.
Thanks for the replies, a fair bit of medical jargon I don't understand there. I live in Berkshire , England
I’m sorry, it’s overwhelming right now but it’s jargon you will get acquainted with. Good luck, please contact me if I can help.
