About a month ago I went to Ochsner’s in New Orleans and saw a rheumatologist. She diagnosed me with fibromyalgia and told me to stop taking anything I had been prescribed and she started me on a low dose of Lyrica. She wanted me to increase the dosage each week to I reached 450. After a week I felt like I was loosing my mind. My eyes weren’t focusing right and my wife said I wasn’t acting myself. Terrible headaches with pressure around my eyes and horrible nausea. Never getting sick but the nausea is awful. We called the rheumatologist and told her and she said to stop taking the Lyrica and try to detox my body. It’s been two weeks since I’ve stopped taking Lyrica and I’m still having strange feelings. I can’t seem to focus at times. My head and eyes still hurt and my vision is a little better but still blurry at times. I have nausea and bad gas after every meal I eat. I work a very physical job and I’ve been off work for two months now. I need to get better where I can get back to work but the way I feel now I can’t do anything. On top of these effects from Lyrica I’m still in pain from fibromyalgia. Does anyone know or think the way I’m feeling now is withdrawals from the Lyrica. Between the bad pains in my hips and legs and the way my head feels how or when can I work? I worked at my current job for 26 years. I don’t want to walk away now but this fibromyalgia is killing me.
You where only on them for a week ? I would go see a doctor or a specialist on fibromyalgia , something doesn’t sound right xx
Sounds like what most the say. All test come back normal and Dr.s look at me strangely and say they don’t know what’s wrong. Meanwhile I’m in pain and feeling confused sometimes.
Are you on any medication ?
I found the withdraws from Lyrica just awful and went on for ages, so I would think it's all linked. Even though you were only on them for a week, your body still has to go through the withdrawals. I can only suggest drinking lots of water to try to flush it out of your system, and try to rest, just be gentle with yourself. As for Fibro itself, I find not alot works but I do find Cannabis oil does! Not sure about the legality where you live, not legal here in Ireland but I use it and it definitely damps down my pain, so I can function, tho doesn't take away the fatigue!
