does Macula thickness change? Ate they usually different for right snd left wyes? Also is a 4mm pupil ok for a trifocal IOL?
Generally the smaller the pupil the more trouble you will have in dimmer light and with a lens that splits the light. It is the reality when you get older though. But, the upside is that dysphotopsia is less likely with a smaller pupil. You are less likely to see the edges of the IOL.
so if I am less likely to see the edges does that mean the night time glare with a trifocal be less as well?
Essentially no. The flare and halos are the result of the multifocal technology, not the pupil size. Dysphotopsia is the result of the lens size, axial position in the eye, and the pupil size. Essentially if the pupil size is large and the light comes in at a sharp angle it can miss the lens or reflect of the edge of the lens.

People with a smaller pupil get a bit of a pinhole camera effect and a wider depth of focus range. They can be more adaptable to monovision due to the increased depth of focus.
