Cracking thunder and lightning in Wembley right now!!

Hi Carole , yeah we have the rain and lightning, I'm in harligton just by Heathrow.

YES!!!!! Flzzzzing about here in Blackpool Exploding in the sky!!

Hi

Just a mini one last night compared to two nights ago.

Wed /Thurs morning about 1am it started. Some Schools were closed the next day because they had been hit and various things were "out" playgrounds cracked, roofs hit etc

The roofs on some houses had been badly hit some were on fire and some just lost half of their roofs

The thunder and lightening was fantastic if scarey.....never seenit so bad. As I'm typing (7.20am} the heavens have just opened and it is pouring so whether we get another one or not I dont know......Sorry North East England

Hi Carol

We thought the roof was about to be hit by lighting or thunder, like you we are in Kent. But we soon won't be as we are returning to the grim North this morning.

Well I got it wrong we had the storm with thundering and lightening and torrential rain and I slept right thru i woke up to find a pair of brown eyes looking at me. My JRT Duke must have jumped on the bed in the night for some comfort he normally snores away in his own bed so it must have given him a fright. Hope you all managed to get some sleep despite the storm in your own areas.

We had it in Kings Lynn at around 4am this morning. Not too much thunder but spectacular lighening. xx

Yes, we got it at about 2am. Fabulous sheet lightning, cracking thunder and rain - I could hear my garden gulping it down!! Xx

Hi Eileen, I am North West on the Solway coast and we got last night what you had Wed/Thurs, my daughter lives in Jesmond and said it was amazing but a little bit frightening.

It didnt stop here until 8am, I was up in the early hours to sit with the dogs (big HPR's) but they were fine and sat watching it. I have always felt it important to make it "normal & fun" so that if ever they are on their own they wont be distressed.

Have a good day everyone, Dot x

Had a really bad storm during night had one scared doggie stuck to me all night

Lovely harlington my home town is Hillingdon near Uxbridge when I was a teenager back 1969 I used to work at Westland helicopters in hayes

It started about 2.30 am lovely in the caravan listening to the rain and watching the flashes of lightening

Oh, what a small world , vagley remember Westland helicopters remember my dad talking about them, think they were on fairy corner . Which is where a new asda has been built.

Hi Dot

I thought it was a bit frightening as well. I'm not usually bothered. In fact when my 2 were little I told them it was God in Heaven moving his furniture around  At that time I used to shift things all the time.....Peter would come home from work not knowing what to expect

So they were happy with that explanation and were never scared.....but the other day was something like I've never seen before!!!

Eileen

I don't know about the asda I wouldn't be surprised across the railway from it was. EMI where my mum was a telephonist
