Well I al 24 years old - I have had middle back pain and lower back pain shooting down to my kidneys and across and around my chest ! I have had this for over 6 weeks now ! I am prone to kidneys stones although after a ct scan on my kidneys nothing is there to show a stone so that is all clear - I have also had numerous blood tests , chest X-rays , spinal X-rays and again everything is all clear ! So after seeing the GP many times nothing is showing up as not normal ! So what can this be !! The doctor is saying possible anxity !? But I can't believe that as the pain I am having is to much and to constant for if to be anxity issue - as you can imagine I am getting very worried as the doctor can't find anything wrong but my body is telling me there is ! Help !??
I have experienced kidney stones on two occasions, one time that required surgical intervention, and the second time when fortunately the stones passed through my uninary system without intervention. I can certainly remember the pain associated with both of those instances, and if you are suffering this badly then it sounds to me that you do need some medical help.
I have heard that anxiety and stress can cause significant neurological chest pain, and if your doctor thought this was the case I am surprised that he/she has not prescribed an antidepressant medication or some other treatment to ease your problem.
Having said this, depending upon your doctor's diagnosis and your circumstances it may well be preferable not to prescribe an actual medication.
As you are clearly suffering quite badly with this condition, I would advise you to revisit your doctor and ask if there is any treatment that he/she can recommend for you now when you need it. It might pay you to be persistent and fully explain the adverse effect that the pain is having on your life.
Hi arche - thanks a lot for your reply - my docotr will not give me any medication regarding anti depressants I am not depressed and couldn't be any further from this - but I have been and seek the doctorany time and he is sayin clearly I have nothing major wrong with me as all these test I have had are showing nothing that isn't normal but as you can imagine I am extremely worried as pain is still there as I am not sure what a cheat and spine x ray even blood tests what they would show weather it is a tumor or something major / although I am not losing any weight and eating normal although takes me ages to get to sleep /
The kid way stones are clear and k have none what so ever that is what the ct scan showed ! Just so confused about this !!

Hello again Jau. It really must be horrible for you to endure such pain. This is why I am suggesting that you should go back to your doctor and state the facts and your fears as you see them, and don't just give up.
The first thing that you need an answer to is why you have this pain. As you are not a medical professional you cannot be expected to the know, but your doctor should be able to give you an answer and also treat the underlying condition. It is also worth mentioning your fears to him/her, as worrying about this sort of thing can only make things worse for you.
If your doctor does not know the answer then he should be able to send you to someone else who can shed some light on the subject.
If you are persistent with your doctor, and you have exhaustively expressed the level of pain you are enduring, then they are dury-bound to do something about it.
