It's been 10 weeks since I got my right hip replacement and for the first time in ages I was on a exercise bike and I could do the full way, I am getting stronger and stronger each day... hopefully getting my left hip done next year ☺️
Congratulations and yes each step is to be celebrated. Keep up the good work.
Huge step indeed! Congrats Megan - I know what this means - truly. I am on my 2nd hip replacement (2 weeks post) so my milestones are slightly different: whoa - pulled my leg up onto the bed with our realizing it! Yikes - started counter surfing. Did not need extra pain meds until 04:00 this morning!
I mastered all of my first run exercises last week and start physio this Thursday so I can move on to more challenging exercises and hopefully earn something to deal with inner groin pulling going on right now. I am so grateful for the butt clenched (aka £50 clench) learned from forum members earlier this year after hip #1.
But enough about me - you have to celebrate this breakthrough suitably - any thoughts?!
Take care and ... on to the next mountain!

Sounds stupid but I've not been on any bike for 10 years so I had a few drinks and went out for dinner too.
All the best on your recovery!!
Thank-you, hope you well❤️
Thank-you it definitely is!!! Hope you well!!
Thank-you.. sadly I can't do lots of struggle still has I need to get my other hip done too. Glad to here it
Don't get me wrong, when I say I go to the gym I walk ten mins on the treadmill then gently peddle ten mins on the bike - I'm no Jessica Ennis 😃 Need my other hip done too but thankfully it's years off !
Hey megan thats great news hun keep it up. Its even better when your 2 done x x
I am doing great Megan, haven't used a walking aid in over a month. Not even a cane. So happy with m progress am pretty much back to normal except for the bending straight down part...and that I can live with. Is so awesome after a year and a half of barely being able to walk or function. The second hip made a huge difference...
Glad to here it. I've been thinking about going to the gym too. Just not sure though!! xx
That's great happy for you. It's a great feeling walking better!! Xx
Hey Laura,
