Makeup and cyclosporine question

I have dry eye syndrome and mild blepharitis. Today I´m getting my cyclosporine 0,1% drops but I have a big event tomorrow and don´t know whether i should start using the drops today or not as i´ve read that it can have side effect and I don´t want to have extremely bloodshot eyes tomorrow. Ok,my doctor said it can cause red eyes and irritation for about 20minutes after using them so will my eyes be ok by the next day?

Second question is related to makeup - use glue on false lashes or mascara? And do you have any tips how to prevent red eyes for bigger events where you just need to use makeup?

I can give u my views only on para 1. Do not use it today. Wait till your event is over. Actually this what one should do for starting any new medicine. good luck.

Hi April, so sorry that you have this not so nice conditions. Mine developed just over a year ago and I have found it a hard battle however I was back with my Ophtamologist on Monday he said my eyes had improved dramatically and the bleph was gone from very severe to mild. He said I can wear eye makeup as normal. I will not take him literally at his word because Bleph is a form of infection and you are to use mascara in the normal way you just keep reinfecting yourself. Ive bought disposable mascara wands and Clinique primer, which is a moisturiser type of mascara. I will put this on first and then the actual black mascara. Unfortunately eyeliner isent an option for me as my bottom eyelids are scarred from the blep. Just be careful but if you are using those drops for the first time I wouldnt mix them with eye make up so maybe hold off starting the drops if its safe to do so. I hope you receive inspiration and help from the rest of us on this forum, posters are very helpful.....Good luck, April
