Hi mary08811....You've been taking Amlodipne for nearly 3 years now, yet after
6 months you found small white cysts....Did you not consult with your Dr.about this??? As for the pins/needs in your hands occasionally, that could be nerves.
My best advice is to see your Dr.
Hi Mike Thank You for your reply. I did visit my doctor when the cysts started because I felt certain I had read of a link with the Amlodipine but my doctor could not find this as a side effect. However,as I am going back to my doctor this week I just thoought I would ask if anybody else on this tablet had ever had this happen ? from the replies I have received I think these cysts are probably not linked. No one else has recorded this as a side effect. Many Thanks for replying
Hi again, mary08811...You're welcome. Although not a Dr., I did not think the cysts were in any way related to the Amlodipine. Are you sure these things are cysts? Are they very small, almost the size of a pinhead...rather rough? If so, they could be something else, but certainly not anything that would cause concern. They can be removed right in the office by a burning technique. Ask about this.
I'm finding on this forum that most people are extremely helpful, There are some, who I find are ocmplaining about the Amlodipine without giving the medication any sort of fair chance, i.e. just 2 days. I know for sure, my doctor would most likely not even listen to a complaint about a medication that had only been taken for 2 days. It doesn't have time to truly get into the system. Feelings of nausea, etc. could be something else. Serious reactions such as rash, swollen tongue, etc.etc. should be considered an emergency & addressed at the hospital.
Please let us know how you get on.
Hi Mike Thanks for getting back to me again sadly the cysts as i call them are much bigger than pinhead size and I have left them for two and a half years without going back to ask my doctor. I will let you all know the outcome of my appopintment but actually feel you are right that t
Hi Mike Thanks for getting back to me again sadly the cysts as I CALL THEM are much much bigger than pinheads and smooth. I have left going back to my doctor for two and a half years about them but started to worry lately. I will let you all know the outcome.I just thought and still feel I read somewhere about the link to medication now I am starting to doubt myself. I know some people do worry about taking medication and I am one of them but when you read a medication you are on was banned in another country it certainly can worry you if you are just starting on that particular tablet. I do know two people who had to be taken off Amlodipine because of side effects and I appreciate that can happen with any tablet you take but it can really worry people. Thanks again for your reply.
Hi. Sorry I havent been back in touch for over 2 weeks laptop not working. I did indeed see a doctor who advised cysts were not connected to amlodipine but fatty cysts from blocked pores??.. While I can accept this without an doubt I have read so many things about this drug sore eyes etc, back pain , all these that others on here and two of my friends seem to complain about on this tablet I have just put down to age but it makes you think. Thanks
